Genshin Impact’s 2.8 update sends the popular RPG into summer and, among other things, brings back the very popular Golden Apple Archipelago from version 1.6 as a playable region. Genshin Impact 2.8 stream date and leaks

Update 2.8 for Genshin Impact is coming in July 2022 and Hoyoverse has announced the stream that will preview the game’s upcoming version.

Update 2.8 for Genshin Impact will be released in July 2022 and Hoyoverse has now announced the traditional live stream that will serve as a preview for the game’s upcoming version.

Fans of Genshin Impact should make time for half an hour on Saturday, July 2, 2022, starting at 8 a.m. EDT to watch the version 2.8 live stream. In it, the developer will provide information about the content that players can expect in the coming weeks. Throughout the show, temporary promo codes for rewards such as free primo gems will also be dropped. If you can’t catch the stream live, be sure to check our Genshin Impact promo codes page to take advantage of the offerings while they’re active.

Genshin Impact 2.8 Leaks – what to expect

Leaks for Genshin Impact 2.8 suggest that the eagerly awaited rerun of fan-favorite Kazuha will start off the version’s character banners. The Anemo samurai is one of the most useful units in the game and should be available in the first half of 2.8, along with Klee and a brand-new character. This is going to be Shikanoin Heizou, a 4-Star Anemo unit using a Catalyst as a weapon. For the second half, a rerun of fiery archer Yoimiya seems to be in the works.

In addition, new outfits for two beloved Mondstadt characters, Diluc and Fischl, have been leaked to the public, suggesting that the two will play a role in the next chapter of the story. While 2.8 doesn’t yet take the Traveler to the highly anticipated region of Sumeru, it slowly but surely steers them in that direction with more characters from there being introduced to us. Fischl herself may be available for free as an event reward in 2.8, similar to Xingqiu in 2.6.

The update’s main theme is without a doubt going to be summer, and what would fit better to that end than version 1.6’s Golden Apple Archipelago? Most likely, this island region will return to the game for a limited time in the upcoming patch and will serve as the main location for several new events, with parts of the landscape having been reworked to give you something new to explore.

Exact details will be revealed in the live stream for sure, but the leaks already offer plenty of reasons to get excited about Genshin Impact’s next chapter. As usual, you can find the show on the game’s official Twitch channel.

How to maximize your Primogems in Genshin Impact

Let’s look at all the ways in which you can maximize your Primogems in Genshin Impact.

If you spend enough time in Genshin Impact, you’ll inevitably want to strengthen your roster of playable characters or purchase items from the in-game shop. By purchasing Primogems, the premium currency created by Mihoyo for players to use on Genshin Impact’s in-game shop, players have the chance to roll for new characters and weapons that can strengthen their build or allow them the opportunity to play as their favorite characters.

As you would expect for a free-to-play game like this, spending money to buy Primogems is the primary method for players to earn this currency. However, it is possible to play the entirety of the game without spending a single penny, and the game offers a generous amount of this precious currency for those who maximize every tool at your disposal to earn as much as possible.

Here, we’ll roll through all the ways in which you can earn this limited in-game currency and what you can do to maximize your Primogems in Genshin Impact.

Genshin Impact 2.7 release date revealed after delay

Update 2.7 of Genshin Impact will last for six weeks.

Update 2.7 of Genshin Impact will be released on May 30, 2022, according to developer Mihoyo, and will last for six weeks. Accordingly, Hoyoverse has already scheduled the release of update 2.8 for July 13, 2022.

The maintenance work will start on May 30 at 6 p.m. EDT and is to last five hours. Afterward, as usual, you should find a few Primogems in your in-game mail as compensation.

Update 2.7 will bring two fresh characters into the game: Yelan, a mysterious Hydro character from Liyue, and Kuki Shinobu, an Electro character hailing from Inazuma and the right hand of Arataki Itto. We’ll learn more about these two characters and what else the update has in store during the livestream for version 2.7, which is scheduled to take place on May 20, 2022, at 8 a.m. EDT  on Genshin Impact’s official Twitch channel. The developers will also drop some codes for free Primogems during the livestream.

In April 2022, the developer announced that it would have to postpone the release of version 2.7 indefinitely, as the company was behind the set schedule. The delay was caused by the current Covid-19 outbreak in Shanghai, which brought the city to a near-complete standstill.

Hoyoverse is one of the companies that, by order of the Chinese authorities, were allowed to resume operations at their offices in the current week. Fortunately, that means that an end to Genshin’s current content drought is finally in sight.

Genshin Impact for Nintendo Switch isn’t canceled, miHoYo confirms

The gacha phenomenon will release on Nintendo hardware eventually.

Anyone worrying about the Nintendo Switch port of Genshin Impact can breathe a sigh of relief, as the port is still in development. For a brief moment in time, anyway.

The fine folks over at GoNintendo briefly spoke with miHoYo about Genshin Impact‘s status on Nintendo’s portable console.

“The Switch version is still in development, and we will release more information as we progress further along,” miHoYo’s statement reads. Pretty cut and dry, that’s for sure.

It’s been a couple of years since Genshin Impact came out on Android, iOS, PS4, and PC. Since then, there’s been next to no information on the Switch version. During a 2020 interview with RPG Site, miHoYo communications head Sam Lai made similar remarks.

“The Switch version of Genshin Impact is currently under development,” Lai said. “More information regarding Switch beta testing and launch dates will be announced at a later time.”

Who knows what the hold-up is since Genshin Impact even made it on PS5 last year. Some believe that getting the game to run decently on Nintendo’s aging hardware could be the issue, but that’s pure speculation.

Genshin Impact is one of the most popular games by most quantifiable metrics. It had the most popular gaming subreddit in 2021 and earns an estimated $1 billion every six months.

Genshin Impact is making a billion bucks every six months

It took between 171 and 195 days to generate each billion in revenue, thus averaging the big one billion per six months.

Need infinite money? Simply create Genshin Impact. That’s the advice I have for you today as news of the gacha game’s ludicrous giga-success is delivered by Sensor Tower, an analytics company. Horrifyingly, that only seems to include the mobile revenues, so you can add on top the console and PC versions.

Calling it the “top-grossing gacha mobile game in Q1 2022”, Sensor Tower goes on to explain that it took between 171 and 195 days to generate each billion revenue, thus averaging the big one billion per six months. They also point out that “the title has ranked as the No. 3 revenue generating mobile title globally” behind Honor of Kings (a Tencent mobile MOBA) and PUBG Mobile.

Where’s the cash coming from? China, naturally, where 30.7 percent of iOS revenue comes from. Sensor Tower says they don’t track Android numbers in China as it uses a third-party store, meaning these numbers are likely even higher. Japan and the US come in second and third.

A lot of the success seems to come from the regular updates and constant reasons to log in that Genshin Impact provides. Live service as a concept is exceedingly popular, obviously, but games that actually update regularly with what their community wants are rarer. The ones that manage it – Genshin, League of Legends, FF14, to name a few – reap the rewards.

Genshin Impact Update 2.7 has been delayed

The next big update for miHoYo’s gacha phenomenon doesn’t have a release.

Anyone aching for additional details on Genshin Impact’s next big patch might want to sit down, as you might be waiting for a while.

On Thursday, developer miHoYo announced that Update 2.7 for Genshin Impact has been delayed until further notice.

“Due to project progress, the Version 2.7 update will be postponed,” miHoYo’s statement reads on Twitter. “For detailed information on the date of the new update, content adjustment plan, and compensation, please stay tuned for upcoming announcements.”

“We will provide the corresponding information to Travelers as soon as possible,” miHoYo continues. “We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused. Thank you for your support and understanding along this journey.”

There’s no timeline on when Update 2.7 could drop, so fans should periodically check Genshin Impact‘s social feeds. At least there’s (probably) plenty of time to unlock the Chasm’s Artifact Sphere, track down those Millennial Mountains offering locations, or simply get through everything in Update 2.6. GLHF isn’t short on Genshin Impact guides by any means.

miHoYo didn’t explicitly state why Update 2.7 got a delay, but with how tremendously difficult video game development is, there’s likely dozens of reasons. Hopefully, the company will give a more in-depth statement (or actual release date) in the coming weeks.

Free Primogems for Genshin Impact are not only available via promo codes, but often via web events. One such event called Journey With a Gentle Breeze started on April 22, 2022, and accompanies the characters Albedo and Klee on their travels through Inazuma.

The event runs until April 28, 2022, at 11:59 p.m. and you must have reached adventure rank 10 in the game to participate. Among the rewards of the promotion are 120 Primogems, Mora, and XP materials for characters and weapons. Read on to learn how you get your hands on those free items.

How to participate in Journey With a Gentle Breeze in Genshin Impact

To get the free Primogems and other items for Genshin Impact, go to the official page of the web event. There you’ll need to log in, which you can do with your Hoyoverse account.

How to earn Primos in Journey With a Gentle Breeze in Genshin Impact

Your task in this web event is to provide Albedo and Klee with provisions for their trips. You buy these provisions by spending Brilliant Leaves. You collect this event currency through in-game actions – logging in, completing daily missions, and so on. The button on the bottom left shows you the options you have each day and lets you claim your earned Brilliant Leaves.

After that, send out Albedo and Klee on their trip and equip them with provisions. The more valuable the food you give them, the more likely they are to bring back several illustrations from their expedition. There are twelve of these illustrations in total, and you’ll need to collect them all to get every reward. The treasure chest icon on the right allows you to view your album and collect the rewards you earned through unlocking illustrations.

Also, you should click on all the animals you see on the event screen to get additional Mora since you’re there anyway. By clicking on the compass needle on the right, you’ll also secure more items – just select the “Copy Link” option there and it’s done.

Genshin Impact: The Millennial Mountains offering locations

This guide will show you all the locations of The Millennial Mountains offerings in Genshin Impact’s Chasm.

The Great Chasm introduced in Update 2.6 for Genshin Impact keeps players busy with numerous fresh puzzles and a brand new Artifact Sphere. Besides that, the area has many new quests to offer, including The Millennial Mountains – a classic task that requires you to find six lost objects to gain access to treasure. You won’t get any markings on the map or any other hints towards the locations of these items, however.

Don’t have time to search for the titular Millennium? Don’t worry, this guide will show you all the locations of The Millennial Mountains offerings in Genshin Impact’s Chasm.
