WATCH: Former Wisconsin DL goes viral in beer commercial with Jason Kelce

Former Wisconsin defensive lineman Beau Allen is front-and-center in Jason Kelce’s latest viral commercial for Garage Beer.

The commercial shows the two former NFL players attempting to wash Kelce’s Cybertruck. Kelce throws Allen a can of his fast-growing beer brand and the rest follows.

The commercial is just another viral moment in what has been a fast ascension into the public eye by Kelce. His Hall of Fame-caliber 13-year NFL career with the Philadelphia Eagles is somehow being overshadowed by his rise in the media, started by his and Travis’ podcast ‘New Heights.’ Kelce is now seen everywhere from ESPN Monday Night Countdown, to his podcast, to commercials for the NFL season and much more.

But the Wisconsin connection here is not Kelce, it’s Beau Allen.

Allen and Kelce were teammates from 2014-2017 in Philadelphia, capped off by winning Super Bowl 52. The former Badger went on to play two more season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2018, 2019) before dealing with injuries in 2020 and 2021 and retiring in 2022.

Allene retired with a total of 90 NFL games played over six seasons, 117 total tackles, 14 tackles for loss, 15 quarterback hits, 2 1/2 sacks and two pass deflections.

He has maintained a media presence since retiring, mostly with Chris Long’s ‘Green Light’ podcast — Long was also a teammate of Allen and Kelce on the 2017 Eagles.

Allene played four seasons for the Badgers from 2010-13 before turning professional. His college stats include 94 total tackles, 15 tackles for loss, eight sacks, three pass deflections and a forced fumble.

I’d bet the former Badger is not often recognized next to Kelce, especially in a commercial like this one. But when there is a Wisconsin connection, that is our focus.
