Report: Chiefs-Patriots to go on as scheduled after no new positive tests

The Chiefs and Patriots game is a go following no new positive COVID-19 test results.

The Kansas City Chiefs and New England Patriots Week 4 game will go on as scheduled on Monday, Oct. 5 at 6:05 p.m. CT, following no new positive COVID-19 tests.

After each team turned up a positive case late in the week, tests from Saturday, Sunday and Monday morning revealed no new positive COVID-19 cases for either the Patriots or the Chiefs according to multiple reports. That’s exactly what the NFL needed to keep this game on track to be played on Monday night. Even with the game having been rescheduled for Monday night it was always pending no further positive COVID-19 test results. For now, the two positive tests for both New England and Kansas City appear to be isolated incidents.

This news is also what the league needed to give the Patriots the go-ahead to travel. Right now New England’s players and staff are currently on a pair of planes, en route to Kansas City. They’re expected to arrive at Arrowhead Stadium by midday.

It’s also great news all-around for the NFL, as they already have one COVID-19 outbreak on their hands in Tennessee. That outbreak seems to be an aberration. If the Chiefs and Patriots are any indications, the protocols in place to protect players and staff from the rampant transmission of the virus appear to be working.

With a little luck involved, perhaps this will be the last time we see a game rescheduled for Kansas City due to COVID-19. If anything it’s taught everyone to stay on their toes and play every game as if it could be their last.

Watch: Rob Gronkowski’s stunning ribbon gymnastics routine

Rob Gronkowski is pretty great at ribbon gymnastics.

In the latest episode of CBS’ Game On!, Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Rob Gronkowski gets intense gymnastics instruction and must perform a routine for a panel of judges.

After selecting the ribbon as his apparatus, Gronk takes the floor and turns in a performance that is almost too good to be real.

He hopes to be wearing a slightly different uniform if the NFL season starts on time.

Watch: Rams legends put Keegan Michael-Key, Ian Karmel through a football practice

Keegan-Michael Key and Ian Karmel were challenged to make a 20-yard field goal at the Coliseum.

There’s a lot of work put in by football players behind the scenes that fans don’t see. Not only are they practicing throughout the week where fans are unable to watch, but they’re constantly working out, watching film, attending meetings and staying in shape at all costs.

Steven Jackson, Torry Holt and Orlando Pace all know that very well, having put together extremely successful careers with the Rams. Practices were especially tough during their playing days, since teams were allowed to hold two-a-days then and there were far more padded practices.

Those three Rams legends put celebrities through a football practice on a new show called “Game On!” and trained them for a kicking competition at the Coliseum before L.A. took on the Bears last season.

The two celebrities were comedians Keegan-Michael Key and Ian Karmel, who hilariously went through receiving and blocking drills, as well as kicking practice. After practicing, the two comedians had to kick a 20-yard field goal at the Coliseum as part of the game show.

Tennis legend Venus Williams also joined in on the fun while in attendance at the game and attempted the kick, too.

It’s hilarious that Karmel hit the crossbar not once, but twice. Key nailed the kick with ease, while Williams’ attempt was pulled left of the mark.

Rob Gronkowski was also on the show as part of the opposing team, and it seems Karmel wants to overtake him in the tight end ranks.
