Rattler is the first Oklahoma quarterback to get selected to the team since Sam Bradford in 2007 and Mims is the first wide receiver in program history to pick up the honor. The two young Sooners are the 16th and 17th FWAA Freshman All-Americans in team history dating back to its beginning in 2001.
Along with Kenneth Murray in 2017, Creed Humphrey in 2018 and Gabe Brkic in 2019, this marks the fourth straight year at least one Oklahoma player has been selected and the seventh in the last eight.
Mims led the Sooners with 610 receiving yards and a Sooners freshman-record nine touchdown receptions. Rattler, meanwhile, went 214 for 317 passing on the year for 3,031 yards and 28 scores.
