Notre Dame men’s hockey will get to play in a historic MLB stadium

The Irish men’s hockey team will try and get your New Year started off the right way

As part of the Big Ten’s 2025 Frozen Confines hockey series, Notre Dame men’s hockey team will get to play a game against Penn State in historic [autotag]Wrigley Field[/autotag].

The summer home of the Chicago Cubs will host multiple conference games there during the week of December 30th, starting with an NHL game where the Chicago Blackhawks will host the St. Louis Blues.

Then it’s the Big Ten’s turn on January 3rd, as the Irish and Nittany Lions will face off in the first game of a double-header followed by Ohio State and Michigan that will conclude the day. The Buckeyes women’s team will take on the Wisconsin on January 4th, before the Badgers men take on Michigan State.

With this scheduled game, it will be the fourth time that Notre Dame will play in a professional outdoor venue, as they previous have played games at Soldier Field, Fenway Park and Notre Dame stadium.

Michigan State hockey to play outdoor game at Wrigley Field

Michigan State will play an outdoor game at Wrigley Field on Jan. 4, the conference announced:

Wrigley Field is the host of the 2025 Winter Classic, a yearly outdoor hockey series within the NHL. Along with the NHL game, the outdoor ice can be used for additional games, and the Big Ten is taking full advantage of the opportunity.

The conference has scheduled three men’s games and one women’s game to happen outside in Chicago. Michigan State was one of the featured teams.

The Spartans will square off against the Wisconsin Badgers on Jan. 4, the conference announced:
