Report: Eagles, Lane Johnson agree to record contract extension

The Eagles and Johnson have agreed to a record-setting contract extension, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo: four years, $72 million, including $54.595 million guaranteed.

Eagles offensive lineman Lane Johnson made big man history Friday. The 29-year-old agreed to a four-year contract extension that is the largest for any OL in NFL history in both per-year amount and in guaranteed money.

Johnson was drafted fourth overall by Philadelphia out of the University of Oklahoma in 2013. The two-time Pro Bowl tackle has started in all 90 games he’s played in through now seven seasons with the organization.

The Eagles penned Johnson to his first four-year extension in 2016 and there was still one year left on that deal when Johnson signed his new four-year extension. The record contract is worth $72 million, including $54.595 million guaranteed.
Earlier this year, Johnson donated $500,000 to the community college he played at for one season (before transferring and becoming a Sooner). The money will go to build a new athletic performance center at Kilgore College, the facility will be called “The Lane.”
