Social Buzz of the Week: Week 4 highlights

Football highlights that you have to watch again!

Friday night football didn’t waste much time when it came to producing buzz-worthy moments across the country.

From a bad snap that turned into major gain for Lexington Catholic (Ky.) to Chippewa Valley’s (Mich.) Shamar Heard coming down with an Andrew Schuster DIME in the back of the end zone, these were our favorite highlights making the rounds on social media.

To the tape!

Social Buzz of the Week: Incredible moments from the Matt Leinart Flag Football League

Football highlights that you have to watch again!

When the talent is this good, we’re willing to overlook that it’s not technically high school.

The Matt Leinart Flag Football League, in conjunction with the NFL Flag Football program, is a flag football league for kids in 1st–8th grade, emphasizing community fun.

But that doesn’t mean it’s short on talent — far from it.

The talented girls in the league are the stars of the show on this week’s Social Buzz.

Social Buzz of the Week: Arch Manning leads an impressive round of must-see moments

Football highlights that you have to watch again!

Down 18 points at halftime, Arch Manning led Isidore Newman (La.) on an incredible comeback over Benton (La.), with the Texas Longhorns commit providing plenty of highlights that had social media buzzing.

Not to be outshined, though, was Hoban’s Lamar Sperling, who shook and shimmied like a young Barry Sanders on his way to 232 yards rushing and a big win over in-state foe St. Ignatius (Ohio).

And don’t overlook Belfry’s (Ky.) Caden Woolum, because if you miss him —as evident in the video—the chances of catching up are slim.

By the way, if any NFL teams need a kicker, watch the end, then give Skyler Davis a ring.

High School Football Social Buzz of the Week: Roderick Robinson II goes off!

Football highlights that you have to watch again!

To most teams, 476 yards rushing and eight touchdowns would be an incredible night on offense. Maybe two or even three nights.

But when that offensive output comes from one player? From one game?

Yep, UCLA commit Roderick Robinson II is not your typical back — made evident by the power and the breakaway speed the Lincoln (San Diego, Calif.) talent displayed during his record-setting night on the ground.

High School Football Social Buzz of The Week: Week 2 Highlights

Football highlights that you have to watch again!

Another trio of social media highlights featuring all the shakes, jukes and jolts?

Here’s the social buzz that caught the USA TODAY High School Sports staff’s eye heading into a new week of action…

Homestead’s (Fla.) Richard Dandridge leads it off with an ankle-breaking display of agility complemented by impressive speed.

Chris Johnson Jr.’s clip? We had to check the controls to ensure it wasn’t stuck in fast-forward mode. (No surprise, the Dillard (Fla.) standout took gold at Florida’s 3A track meet in the 100- and 200-meter dash.)

And finally, we have Texas commit Cedric Baxter (Edgewater High School), who hit the brakes and seemingly made all 11 defenders miss at one point during his epic scamper to the end zone. And he sticks the landing, too!
