Vikings vs. Cowboys could get flexed into Sunday Night Football in Week 11

The Vikings could see themselves flexed into prime time.

The Minnesota Vikings currently only have one prime-time game remaining this season: Thanksgiving night against the New England Patriots.

Starting in Week 5, Sunday games can be flexed into the night slot. This is used for matchups thought to be great before the season that don’t turn out to have the expected sizzle.

The Vikings are set to host the Dallas Cowboys in Week 11, and that game could be flexed. It is currently scheduled for 3:25 p.m. CT on CBS. The scheduled prime-time game is the Bengals taking on the Steelers, and with both of those teams struggling, Vikings-Cowboys could end up being an attractive matchup.

As the Pioneer Press’ Chris Tomasson mentions above, the other game that could be flexed is Chiefs vs. Chargers, but there is a strong likelihood that the network protected that game, so it might not be able to be flexed.

The decision to flex any game before Week 18 needs to come at least 13 days ahead of the game, meaning we would know any decision to move the Vikings-Cowboys game by Monday, Nov. 7.

Seahawks, 49ers Week 13 matchup flexed out of Sunday Night Football slot

It’s a testament to how poorly this season has gone that their Week 13 matchup with San Francisco has been flexed out of the Sunday Night Football slot.

The Seahawks and 49ers had the most intense and interesting rivalry in the NFL only a few short years ago. It’s a testament to how poorly this season has gone that their Week 13 matchup with San Francisco has been flexed out of the Sunday Night Football slot.

Instead, fans will be treated to a Broncos vs. Chiefs matchup on NBC. The Seahawks/Niners game will take place at 1:25pm local time.

Truth hurts and the fact is most fans are not interested seeing a 3-7 team featured in a primetime game, even if that team is much better than that record might suggest.
