Stevie Nicks said watching fictional Daisy Jones made her ‘feel like a ghost’ watching her own story

It’s amazing to learn the Fleetwood Mac singer loved this wonderful show.

It was no secret that long before it was a series on Prime Video, the novel Daisy Jones & The Six was potentially inspired by Fleetwood Mac.

The author, Taylor Jenkins Reid, has said on record that she was influenced by a live performance of “Landslide” by Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham from Fleetwood Mac.

The novel was developed into a miniseries that was released in March 2023 and it received several Emmy nominations. Riley Keough, who is the eldest granddaughter of Elvis Presley, was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress after portraying the titular Daisy Jones.

This was a role that reminded many of Nicks and the rock star admitted that she saw the uncanny resemblance as well.

According to Nicks, who said she watched Daisy Jones twice, it eventually felt like she was reliving her own past when she watched the show. Here is what she said:

“In the beginning, it wasn’t really my story, but Riley seamlessly, soon became my story. It brought back memories that made me feel like a ghost watching my own story. It was very emotional for me. I just wish Christine could have seen it. She would have loved it.”

Christine refers to Christine McVie, the English keyboardist and one of the vocalists in Fleetwood Mac. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, who died in 2022, was also an inspiration for the character Karen Sirko portrayed by Suki Waterhouse.

Although the story of Daisy Jones and Fleetwood Mac are not one-to-one parallels, it is amazing to learn that Nicks watched the show and felt more flattered than anything else.

That is high praise from one of the most legendary musicians of all time.

Quavo’s incredible tribute to Takeoff led this year’s powerful Grammys ‘In Memoriam’ segment

Wow, this tribute got us a little misty.

One of the most incredible moments at this year’s Grammy Awards was a deeply moving tribute to late Migos member Takeoff performed by Quavo, his former groupmate and uncle.

Quavo performed his song “Without You” that he shared some time after Takeoff’s death last fall. Contemporary worship group Maverick City Music joined Quavo onstage for the performance and added in lyrics from the Wiz Khalifa/Charlie Puth Furious 7 tearjerker “See You Again.”

For those still in shock over the hip-hop titan’s tragic death, the performance helped illuminate why the Grammys continue to knock it out of the park with the show’s annual In Memoriam segments.

Even if you’re only somewhat familiar with Migos, it’s hard not to get swept up in your emotions over this deeply moving tribute.

Kacey Musgraves also paid homage to late country icon Loretta Lynn during the ceremony in this moving performance of “Coal Miner’s Daughter.”

We also got a beautiful tribute from Mick Fleetwood, Sheryl Crow and Bonnie Raitt for late Fleetwood Mac member Christine McVie. They played Fleetwood Mac’s “Songbird” in McVie’s honor.

Also, don’t worry if you were worried if the In Memoriam segment left out late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins. The Grammys honored his life during last year’s ceremony.

The Fleetwood Mac ‘Dreams’ Challenge has now reached the sports world

Get out your Ocean Spray.

By now, you’re probably — hopefully! — familiar with the meme that has taken over social media, from TikTok to Instagram to Twitter: people skateboarding or rolling along, lip-syncing to Dreams by Fleetwood Mac and sipping on some Ocean Spray.

They’re imitating a man named Nathan Apodaca (aka @420doggface208 on TikTok) who did it first and ignited the viral sensation that eventually led to Fleetwood Mac drummer Mick Fleetwood doing it.

That’s included the meme making its way into the sports world, with some PGA golfers, fans and others doing the “Dreams Challenge” (which isn’t much of a challenge, but fine!).

The Fleetwood Mac ‘Dreams’ skateboarding videos are a surprising TikTok delight

A fun new trend on TikTok is here.

There are a lot of stressful things going on in the world right now, but there’s a new TikTok trend that’s a super chill escape for a few seconds.

A man named Nathan Apodaca — @420doggface208 on TikTok — filmed a video of himself skateboarding in Idaho, drinking some Ocean Spray juice and singing along to Dreams, the 1977 classic by Fleetwood Mac off their all-time great album, Rumours.

A tweet showing off the TikTok video went viral last month and has spawned a bunch of imitations, including on recent edition by Fleetwood Mac drummer Mick Fleetwood. And it’s a delight, the simple joy of singing along while cruising around:

Here’s the Mick Fleetwood (he joined TikTok just to do this!) version:

A couple of other versions:

Also, it’s brought good news for Apodaca that his video went viral. From USA TODAY:

Apodaca had done well, too. The Idaho Falls resident, who had been living in an RV with no running water, told TMZ that he’s taken in over $10,000 in donations from fans. He plans to gift $5,000 to his mom, buy a new RV and upgrade his busted car — the reason he was getting around on a skateboard to make the video.
