PFF grades Kadyn Proctor as the best OL from conference championship weekend

True freshman Kadyn Proctor was outstanding for the Crimson Tide in SEC Championship

When Alabama head football coach Nick Saban made the decision to start true freshman Kadyn Proctor at left tackle in the Crimson Tide’s 2023 season opener, he knew there would be growing pains. Proctor struggled early on as he got beat up real good by the Texas front seven and even had a tough out against USF.

Yet, Saban stuck with the No. 5 overall recruit in the 2023 recruiting cycle and now the dividends are beginning to pay off. Proctor is on pace to be the next Evan Neal or JC Latham with top five NFL Draft pick potential which is why Saban stuck with him even when he wasn’t playing very well.

A ton of credit must go to Proctor who continued to fight and get better despite the frustrations of the Alabama fanbase. Proctor proved Saban’s decision to be correct as he was outstanding for the Crimson Tide in their SEC Championship victory over the Georgia Bulldogs. PFF graded him as the highest preforming offensive lineman from any team playing on conference championship weekend.

If the Crimson Tide want to get past Michigan and compete for a national title then it will be imperative that both Proctor and Latham paly their absolute best football in the next two games.

Former Alabama PG Jaden Bradley visiting with the Memphis Tigers

Former five-star recruit and Alabama player, Jaden Bradley, set to meet with the Memphis Tigers

The Alabama men’s basketball program will look much different in 2023 than it did this past year. The Tide lost all three assistant coaches to head coaching opportunities this off-season and the roster was purged by the NBA draft as well as the transfer portal.

One of the most surprising departures was former four-star recruit, Jaden Bradley. Coming out of high school, Bradly was a McDonald’s All-American as well as a top-25 player in the 2022 recruiting cycle. He was one of the biggest recruits Nate Oats has landed during his tenure in Tuscaloosa so it is definitely a tough loss for the Tide.

Bradley averaged 19.8 minutes a game and was good for 6.4 PPG and 3.1 APG. However, his inconsistency from the field was his downfall as he shot under 40% in 2022-2023.

Even though they are going through the NBA draft process, Oats is optimistic that Mark Sears and Jahvon Quinerly will return to Alabama next season. Bradley read the writing on the wall that he might get buried in the depth chart and has decided to pursue other options.

Earlier in the week Bradley met with North Carolina State, but today he will be meeting with the Memphis Tigers. With Penny Hardaway at the helm Memphis has become a very attractive landing spot for a lot of guys in the portal and I wouldn’t be shocked if this is where Bradley lands.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to monitor Jaden Bradley’s potential transfer locations.
