T.Y. Hilton’s son just committed to play football at Wisconsin, which makes us feel very old

Wanna feel really old?

As hard as it is to believe, former Indiana Colts wide receiver T.Y. Hilton’s son has already committed to play for a college football program.

Eugene Hilton, a rising senior and three-star wide receiver out of Zionsville in Indiana, recently committed to play at Wisconsin, per ESPN.

That’s just a stunning thing to think about, particularly given that the elder Hilton played in the NFL as recently as 2022 for the Dallas Cowboys.

T.Y. Hilton, who played at Florida International, was drafted by the Colts in 2012 to the tune of four Pro Bowl appearances, and his son will begin his college football journey for the Badgers in fall 2025.

It’s just another reminder of just how quickly time passes us by, as one of the star wide receivers of the 2010s now has a son playing the same position that we may well see on Sundays in a couple of years.

Well, we feel old.

4-star WR Eugene Hilton makes commitment

T.Y. Hilton’s son, wide receiver recruit Eugene Hilton, has made his college decision

Four-star wide receiver recruit Eugene Hilton has committed to the Wisconsin Badgers over the Georgia Bulldogs. Hilton is a promising wide receiver prospect with NFL bloodlines.

Hilton is a big addition to Wisconsin’s class of 2025. The Badgers have the No. 12 recruiting class in the nation and 19 commitments.

Hilton’s commitment is not a shock to the Georgia Bulldogs, who have the second-best recruiting class in the SEC. Georgia recently added a commitment from four-star wide receiver Talyn Taylor and are trending for four-star CJ Wiley.

Hilton’s father, T.Y. Hilton, played in the NFL for over 10 seasons and accumulated 9,812 receiving yards along with 53 career receiving touchdowns. T.Y. Hilton primarily played for the Indianapolis Colts.

Eugene Hilton looks to make a name for himself at the college level. Hilton plays high school football for Zionsville High School in Zionsville, Indiana.

The 6-foot-2, 195-pound wide receiver recruit is ranked as the No. 395 recruit in the country, the No. 63 wide receiver and the No. 7 player in Indiana, according to 247Sports.

On film, the four-star receiver displays a good combination of speed and body control. Hilton is capable of winning contested catches.

Wisconsin made the final schools for four-star class of 2025 offensive lineman Hardy Watts on Saturday.

The Badgers were included in his list of final three along with Clemson and Michigan.

Watts is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 217 player in the class of 2025, No. 12 interior offensive lineman and No. 1 recruit from his home state of Massachusetts. He is coming off visits to Clemson and Wisconsin on June 2 and June 7 respectively, and still has a trip planned to Michigan for June 21.

While the Badgers appear to still be in the running to land the top-ranked lineman, 247Sports does have one crystal ball prediction logged for him to choose Clemson. That prediction came on June 12 from Clemson insider Austin Hannon.

Wisconsin’s class of 2025 recently took a big step forward after the additions of four-star LB Mason Posa and four-star WR Eugene Hilton Jr. It now has 19 total commitments, five of which from blue-chip players. The class is an impressive follow-up performance by Luke Fickell and his staff after finishing the 2024 cycle with a top-25 class.

The group could rise even further in the Big Ten and national rankings with a possible commitment from Watts. He is one of the program’s highest-ranked remaining targets in the class.

It’s worth monitoring the top lineman’s recruitment as he nears a decision between the three finalists. Wisconsin should still have a late chance at landing a commitment.
