2 Alabama quarterbacks appear on ESPN’s ‘Top 60 since 2000’

The Alabama Crimson Tide has recently started churining out high-profile quarterback talent. Two recent products make it in ESPn rankings.

Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide have historically been known for their strong defense, as well as featuring a dominant wide receiver and running back. Recently, the narrative has changed.

Quarterbacks from Alabama are not just game managers, but are potential stars at the next level.

ESPN’s Bill Connelly ranked the top-60 quarterbacks in college football since 2000.

Alabama has two quarterbacks on the list, both were on roster just two years ago.

“Like Trask, Jones patiently bided his time and didn’t really see the field until an injury. But after taking the baton from Tua Tagovailoa late in 2019, he led maybe the best Bama team of all-time to a 13-0 record, with a 41-to-4 TD-to-INT ratio, in 2020.”

“The first time we saw the five-star recruit taking meaningful snaps as a freshman, he was saving the Crimson Tide in the national title game. He then posted the best passer rating ever in 2018 (199.4) and was on pace to top it (206.9) when he was lost to injury the next year. His résumé was incomplete but remarkable.”
