Michigan State football has extended an offer to a defensive back in the 2026 recruiting class. At 6-foot-1, 175 pounds, Emoni Smith translates to safety, where MSU has offered the athlete as.

The Hilltop (OH) native received his MSU offer at Spartan Dog Con, and can be a high priority target in 2026.

Michigan State football will be hosting a three-star athlete from Ohio next week.

Emoni Smith of Galloway, Ohio announced on Thursday that he’ll be visiting Michigan State on July 27. Smith is a three-star athlete in the 2026 class.

Smith ranks as the No. 46 athlete and No. 523 overall prospect in 247Sports’ composite rankings for the 2026 class. He’s also listed as the No. 28 player from Ohio.

Michigan State has yet to extend an offer to Smith, but he does currently holds offers from 10 other programs, according to 247Sports. Those schools are Kentucky, Purdue, USF, Akron, Bowling Green, Campbell, Kent State, Miami (OH), Ohio and Toledo.
