Michigan State football loses tight end commitment

Wisconsin flips MSU tight end commitment

Michigan State football has lost a member of its 2025 recruiting class, losing tight end commit Emmett Bork.

Bork, a native of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, the Spartans earned the pledge from Bork in May, but he has gone back on it, flipping to his home state Badgers on Monday.

MSU, tight on numbers in the 2025 class, will surely use this spot elsewhere, potentially offensive line, but with the Spartans holding a commitment from in-state tight end Jayden Savoury, it is doubtful that the team will look for another tight end.

BREAKING: Wisconsin flips a class of 2025 Michigan State commit

Wisconsin landed a commitment from class of 2025 three-star tight end Emmett Bork on Monday.

Bork was originally committed to Big Ten rival Michigan State. He pledged to the Spartans back in May, and now flips his commitment to the Badgers after visiting the program during its recent loss to Penn State.

247Sports ranks the Oconomowoc, Wisconsin native as the No. 1,284 overall player in the class of 2025, No. 68 tight end and No. 13 recruit from the state of Wisconsin.

He is commitment No. 25 for the program in the class of 2025. Luke Fickell’s group now ranks No. 27 in the nation after Bork’s addition, jumping Big Ten rival Rutgers.

Bork is Wisconsin’s second flip in the class of 2025 in just the last 10 days. The Badgers also flipped three-star DT Drayden Pavey from Purdue on Oct. 22.

Wisconsin’s work is close to done in the 2025 cycle. The group is already a strong follow-up to Luke Fickell’s program-best 2024 output. Another few late-stage commitments would only bolster that reality.

Michigan State football commit receives Wisconsin crystal ball

An MSU recruit may be trending towards Wisconsin

Michigan State won the commitment of Emmett Bork very early in the 2025 recruiting cycle. Bork made his commitment to MSU in early May after only a few power five offers and the Spartans shut down any activity from other teams, securing their guy at tight end.

A 6-foot-6, 240 pound tight end from Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, Bork is one of two at the position committed to the Spartans, joining in state product Jayden Savoury.

Now, it appears that the in-state Badgers may be making a run at the MSU commit. Wisconsin 247Sports reporter Evan Flood has submitted a crystal ball for the Badgers to land the MSU commit.

Michigan State football lands 2025 3-star tight end out of Wisconsin

Yesterday, Michigan State football added another player to their 2025 recruiting class in DiMari Malone. On Monday, the Spartans added another player, bringing the total for 2025 up to four players, after Emmett Bork announced his commitment to MSU.

Bork is a 3-star tight end out of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. He is 6-foot-6, 240 lbs and the No. 74 ranked tight end in his class by 247Sports.

According to 247Sports, it was a recruiting battle between Big Ten schools, with Indiana and Rutgers named as the top competition for his commitment.

This might be a huge pick-up for MSU, as Bork is a converted wide receiver who recently uploaded some impressive tight end tape to his HUDL page.

Emmett Bork talks Rutgers football offer

Emmett Bork discusses his recent Rutgers football offer.

Emmett Bork was offered by Rutgers football this week, and an official visit is going to happen later this month.

The offer from Rutgers really kick-started Bork’s recruitment, with three Big Ten offers coming in the next two days.

In fact, Rutgers was the first Power Five offer for Bork, a 6-foot-6 and 240-pound prospect from Oconomowoc High School (Oconomowoc, Wisconsin). Since his Wednesday offer, Bork has been offered by Indiana, Michigan State and Illinois.

He is a three-star prospect according to 247Sports who is the No. 20 prospect in Wisconsin in the class of 2025.

Coming into this week, he held offers from Appalachian State, Illinois State, North Dakota, North Dakota State and Ohio among others.

“I first came in contact with Rutgers this spring,” Bork told Rutgers Wire.

“Coach Vallone (tight ends coach Scott Vallone) came and visited me (Wednesday) and it was great talking to him and getting to know him and the program a bit more! He then gave me a call after he left and added coach Schiano and he talked to me about the values at Rutgers and I loved it, I think I would fit into the program very well!”

The Rutgers offer was a big moment in Bork’s recruitment, marking the first Power Five program to extend him an offer.

“I’m super excited about it! Really appreciate the coaching staff for believing in me, definitely ready to work,” Bork said.

“I’m super exited to make it out on an official! I can’t wait to meet the rest of the coaching staff in person and keep building a strong relationship with the program.”

The Rutgers official, Bork said, will take place the weekend of May 31.

Rutgers is coming off a 7-6 (3-6 Big Ten) season where they beat Miami in the Bad Boy Mowers Pinstripe Bowl.
