The Ohio State Women’s basketball team added another piece to its 2024 class earlier this week. Finnish center Elsa Lemmila announced her commitment to play for the Buckeyes on her personal Instagram page.

Lemmila stands at 6-foot-6 and most recently played for Finland’s U18 team where she averaged 12.9 points per game to go along with nine rebounds and 1.3 assists per contest.

There is potential for the Finnish center to have success in the Big Ten but will need to round out some aspects of her game. Scouting reports read:

Elsa runs the floor and boxes out reasonably well; she gets put backs, can put the ball on the floor, and displays a good touch near the basket; not an outside shooter at present. For post players, Elsa rates as above average in agility, foot speed, post moves, and blocks—although not great in any of these characteristics as of the moment. – Bucknuts

Lemmila becomes the fourth member of the OSU recruiting class which includes Ella Hobbs from Concord, North Carolina, Seini Hicks from Cincinnati, and most recently Ava Watson from Buford, Georgia.
