Rutgers gymnastics records season-high team score at Maryland dual

Rutgers gymnastics had a shining performance over the weekend.

On a snowy Friday night in Maryland, Rutgers gymnastics reached new heights as a program. The Scarlet Knights claimed the Big Ten dual meet behind a season-high 195.550 team score. In their best performance of the season, Rutgers got contributions from various sources.

As the Scarlet Knights put together a dominating performance, they recorded eight individual career-high or tying scores. That includes Valentina Lorente-Garcia, who produced a 0.825 vault, the best of her career. Gabriella Dildy set career highs on the second straight week on vaults.

Additionally, freshman Olivia DiNovi continued her impressive start with a career-high 9.800 on bars. Since the start of her college career, the rookie has posted a 9.700, 9.725, and 9.800 in succession in her first three meets. She was not the only newcomer who produced, as Elliot Goldsmith posted a 9.650 in her college debut on the bars.
