Michigan football offers emerging 2026 athlete from Pennsylvania

Gotta get in there early! #GoBlue

Michigan football has been focused mostly on the burgeoning 2024 class, and a little on the 2025 class, but 2026 recruiting is on the radar — even if it’s still three years away. The Wolverines have put out a handful of offers to the soon-to-be sophomore class, getting in early where it appears warranted.

On Tuesday, another 2026 player in Big Ten territory reported an offer from the maize and blue.

2026 Harrisburg (Pennsylvania) athlete Elias Coke added to what is already an impressive offer sheet. While he doesn’t have a bunch of big-name schools to report, he has 17 reported offers, including several Power Five programs. Boston College, Michigan State, West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Purdue, Pitt, Maryland, Rutgers and Iowa State are on that list. And Michigan football added itself with a reported offer.

Coke is listed at 6 feet, 2 inches and 192 pounds. It’s unclear which position he’ll play at the next level, but he plays wide receiver and safety in high school.

How was Elias Coke’s recent visit to Rutgers football (and offer)?

Pennsylvania athlete Elias Coke talks about his recent Rutgers football visit and offer.

On Monday, Rutgers football offered Elias Coke, a class of 2026 recruit. The offer for Coke came while he was on campus for a visit with the Big Ten program.

Rutgers is now the third Big Ten offer for Coke, an impressive 6-foot-2, 190-pound athlete from Harrisburg High School (Harrisburg, PA). Last season in 14 games for Harrisburg as a wide receiver, he had 24 catches for 409 receiving yards and six touchdowns.

He currently holds Power Five offers from Boston College, Michigan State, Pittsburgh, Purdue, Syracuse, Virginia Tech and West Virginia.

The offer from Rutgers to Coke detailed how the running back could potentially fit into the program’s rebuild under head coach Greg Schiano.

“They took me into the room with the head coach and I talked to him about the team, the coaching, the culture and etc. then after that he offered me,” Cook told Rutgers Wire.

“What stuck out was that the head coach and the wide receivers coach both have the same mind set and they are 100 percent staying here because they said this is their home.”

Despite his position versatility, Coke was offered by Rutgers as a wide receiver.

He is planning over the next weeks to visit Maryland, Central Florida, TCU, Texas and Texas A&M. Coke said he is open to returning to Rutgers again.

The message and commitment from the staff, he said, stood out during the visit.

“The fact that this group of coaches made this program successful in the past, and they’re back again looking to make it even more successful than it was before,” Coke said.

Another Big Ten school comes in for Elias Coke, who was offered by Rutgers football on Monday

Rutgers football offered Elias Coke this week.

Elias Coke is getting some serious Power Five interest with Rutgers football offering the Pennsylvania athlete on Monday. This is now three Big Ten offers for Coke, who is turning into a national recruit.

A class of 2026 recruit, Coke’s offer from Rutgers is the third by a Big Ten offer in a recruitment that is already quite strong. A 6-foot-2, 190-pound athlete from Harrisburg High School (Harrisburg, PA), Coke is an athletic prospect who is currently a wide receiver and a defensive back.

Last season for Harrisburg, he had 24 catches for 409 receiving yards and six touchdowns in 14 games played.

He tweeted about the offer from Rutgers football on Monday, tagging head coach Greg Schiano and two other coaches: Kirk Ciarrocca (offensive coordinator) and Damiere Shaw (running backs coach):
