Video: ONE Championship: Battleground II highlights include brutal one-punch, 10-second KO

Eko Roni Saputra delivered the highlight of the night with a vicious right hand at ONE: Battleground II in Singapore.

ONE Championship: Battleground II took place Friday at Singapore Indoor Stadium and streamed on B/R Live.

In the main event, [autotag]Zhang Lipeng[/autotag] won a unanimous decision against former ONE lightweight champion [autotag]Eduard Folayang[/autotag], who dropped his fourth consecutive fight.

The highlight of the card, however, belonged to [autotag]Eko Roni Saputra[/autotag], who needed just 10 seconds to knock out [autotag]Liu Peng Shuai[/autotag] with a vicious right hand.

Dutch middleweight contender [autotag]Reinier de Ridder[/autotag] picked up a crucial win at “ONE Championship 108: Warrior’s Code” to earn a shot at reigning champion Aung La N Sang.

De Ridder’s decision victory over Brazilian contender Leandro Ataides in the featured MMA bout of the night was one of the highlights at Istora Senayan as the Dutchman battled past the former Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion and noted knockout artist over three rounds in Jakarta, Indonesia.

His next big test comes against two-division champ N Sang, who holds the middleweight and light heavyweight title, as well as a TKO victory over heavyweight champion Brandon Vera. As tasks go, they don’t get much bigger for “The Dutch Knight.”

ONE Championship returns to Indonesia for “Warrior’s Code,” as one of the organization’s most dangerous middleweight contenders, Brazil’s [autotag]Leandro Ataides[/autotag], makes his long-awaited return in a bid to book himself into a title fight with reigning champion Aung La N Sang.

Ataides (11-3) takes on unbeaten Dutchman [autotag]Reinier de Ridder[/autotag] (11-0) in a pivotal middleweight matchup at Istora Senayan in Jakarta with the possibility of a shot at “The Burmese Python’s” middleweight title awaiting the winner. But his isn’t the only matchup on the card with potential title implications.

Former ONE featherweight champion [autotag]Marat Gafurov[/autotag] (17-2) is looking to battle his way back to the belt he lost to reigning champ Martin Nguyen two years ago, and the Dagestani grappling ace will be keen to impress when he takes on undefeated Moldovan [autotag]Iuri Lapicus[/autotag] (13-0) in their main card matchup.

He’s not the only man looking to position himself for another crack at Nguyen, either.
