Michigan State beats Alabama to land Arizona State transfer DB Ed Woods

As Michael Scott once said in The Office, ‘Well, well, well, how the turn tables… have turned.’ The tide is changing in the college football landscape, and we saw that on Tuesday, when Michigan State football and new head coach Jonathan Smith saw something we haven’t often seen in East Lansing: beating Alabama for a big recruiting win.

On Tuesday, the Spartans landed the commitment of 3-star defensive back transfer Ed Woods from Arizona State.

This is a major win for the Spartans, and Woods should walk in as the top cornerback on the roster from day one, a position the Spartans have been weak at since Mark Dantonio left town.

Arizona State football CB transfer to announce between Michigan State and Alabama

Alabama or Michigan State? That will be the decision Arizona State CB transfer Ed Woods will make on Tuesday:

Arizona State cornerback transfer Edward Woods has set a date and is prepared to announce what is next for his college career. After visiting both Alabama and Michigan State over the last few days, Woods will be deciding between the two schools on Tuesday.

As of now, Michigan State’s coaching staff feels confident, that they have done all they could to land Woods’ commitment. It looks to be a true 50/50 heading into Tuesday.

Alabama football set to host Arizona State transfer Ed Woods this weekend

Kalen DeBoer and Alabama football are making moves in the transfer portal

Kalen DeBoer and the Alabama Crimson Tide football team have been fairly quiet so far in the spring transfer portal cycle. Aside from a few walk-ons deciding to leave and the additions of Kadyn Proctor and Graham Nicholson, Alabama’s roster has remained intact.

Now it appears Coach DeBoer and his staff have zeroed in on another potential portal addition. On Monday, On3 reported that the Crimson Tide will host a visit with Arizona State defensive back Ed Woods.

Woods has played corner and safety over the last couple of seasons for the Sun Devils accumulating 66 tackles, 10 passes defended, and one interception.

Alabama could use the experience of Woods in a secondary that is littered with young but promising talent.
