One EDGE prospect in each round of the 2023 NFL draft

The Browns have options.

With the 2023 NFL draft set to kick off in just a few days, the Cleveland Browns could use more depth at edge rusher opposite Myles Garrett. The team got very little production from any other edge players. This year’s class has some intriguing pass rushers that could improve the overall talent in the edge room.

Based on the free agency period the team had, pass rusher and defensive tackle will likely be the focus early in this draft. The team also needs help at linebacker but the linebacker class isn’t good outside of a few players. Let’s take a look at one edge player in each round for Cleveland.

NFL Draft: 6 Vikings defensive targets on day 3

The Minnesota Vikings aren’t likely to have many day three picks, but there are some gems out there to be had.

The Minnesota Vikings are currently slated to have five picks in the 2023 NFL draft. They are likely to use them as currency to trade up and down in the draft.

What they won’t have is 10 picks on day three to add a lot of depth to the roster. Last year, the Vikings drafted six players in round four or later to add depth that was void due to Rick Spielman’s poor drafting.

This year, I expect the Vikings to pick five or less times on day three. Just because they will have less swings doesn’t mean they can’t find talented players. Here are six defensive targets the Vikings should prioritize on day three.

Rams 2023 Draft Prospect Profile: Dylan Horton (Edge, TCU)

If the Rams are interested in taking an edge rusher in the middle rounds of the 2023 NFL draft, Dylan Horton is someone to keep an eye on.

The Los Angeles Rams failed to get consistent production out of their edge rushers in 2022 and they have uncertainty surrounding the position at this point in the offseason. Leonard Floyd was released earlier this offseason, giving the Rams a total of 4.5 career sacks from their current edge rushers on the roster.

Michael Hoecht, who transitioned from being an interior defender to an edge rusher last season, has all 4.5 of those career sacks. Taking that into account, the Rams are likely going to address the edge rusher positon at some point in the 2023 NFL draft.

If the Rams want to bolster their pass-rushing unit in the middle rounds of this year’s draft, Dylan Horton out of TCU is a solid choice.

2023 NFL draft: 6 prospects who boosted their stock in the Fiesta Bowl

These six prospects in the 2023 NFL draft class made the most of their opportunity to shine in the College Football Playoff semifinal

On Saturday evening, the TCU Horned Frogs took care of business against the Michigan Wolverines in the Fiesta Bowl to advance to the College Football Playoff national championship.

Thanks to a national stage and a big performance, certain players saw their names rise on draft boards after how they fared in the game.

Here’s a look at six players who saw their draft stock rise:

Five Oklahoma Sooners we’ll be watching on offense vs. TCU

Oklahoma travels to Fort Worth to take on the TCU Horned Frogs, and here are five players to watch on offense this week.

Oklahoma’s effort last week wasn’t its best, and more than anything, they couldn’t play complementary football long enough to secure a victory. Defensively, it wasn’t a pretty sight. Offensively, they started out slow but found their footing enough to keep the Sooners in the game. The biggest knock offensively were some missed opportunities and several drive-killing penalties.

Oklahoma’s offense was operating well enough at one point on Saturday that they may have been able to win them the game if they played a more crisp game from start to finish. This won’t necessarily be a bounce-back game for them as much as it is about putting together a complete offensive game. They can’t afford penalties or leave scoring chances on the field.

We have five offensive players in mind below that we believe could be a part of a big day on Saturday.

How do the Oklahoma Sooners and TCU Horned Frogs stack up statistically?

How do Oklahoma and TCU stack up statistically heading into their showdown on Saturday night?

The Oklahoma Sooners and the TCU Horned Frogs face off Saturday night in Norman. The two squads meet for the 21st time in a series the Sooners have historically dominated. OU leads the all-time series 16-5 and is on a seven-game win streak dating back to 2014.

Both teams have scratched and clawed to secure winning records. While Oklahoma is undefeated on the year, the Sooners have won five of their six games by a touchdown or less.

After dropping the conference opener vs. Texas two weeks ago, TCU grabbed a 52-31 win at Tech to improve to 3-2 on the year.

Quarterback questions abound for each team. For Oklahoma, Lincoln Riley told the media he wouldn’t announce a starting quarterback between Caleb Williams and Spencer Rattler until gameday. For TCU, Gary Patterson played the injury status of starting quarterback Max Duggan close to the vest, refusing to comment on whether Duggan or Matthew Downing will start under center this weekend.

With so much uncertainty surrounding Saturday’s game, we’ve put together a statistical primer of cold hard facts to get you ready for kickoff.
