Former top recruit in Colorado’s 2022 class entering transfer portal

Colorado’s top-rated 2022 signee is entering the transfer portal

It likely won’t compare to the chaos of December, but we should see some more Buffs throw their name into the transfer portal over the next couple of weeks with a 15-day open window opening on Saturday.

Keyshon Mills has already made his intentions clear and now another defensive back is joining him as freshman safety Dylan Dixson announced via Twitter on Friday that he’ll be looking for opportunities elsewhere.

Dixson was Colorado’s top-rated recruit in the class of 2022 and saw action in three games last season, recording three total tackles. In high school, he was also recruited by Tennessee, Houston, Florida State, Iowa and Arizona State, among others.

With Trevor Woods and Cam’Ron Silmon-Craig impressing this spring, the Buffs remain strong at safety heading into 2023.

Dylan Dixson, Colorado’s highest-rated 2022 signee, talks about upcoming freshman season

Dylan Dixson gave BuffZone’s Brian Howell his thoughts on beginning his college career

The time has nearly come for Dylan Dixson to arrive in Boulder. He and 18 other Colorado football incoming freshmen are scheduled to report for summer workouts on  Monday.

BuffZone’s Brian Howell recently caught up with the Pearland, Texas three-star safety to get his thoughts on beginning his college career (h/t BuffZone):

“I think I’m more physically ready,” he said. “The mental challenge is what I’m in for because I’ve never been up there, so I don’t know what to expect. I don’t know how people act (in Boulder) or what’s popular and what’s not. I could get up there and be a complete weirdo, but down here I’m of the popular kids, so that’s what I’m interested in seeing how that goes. The physical aspect, I know that as long as it’s there, I’m gonna compete and fight.”

Dixson comes in as Colorado’s highest-rated 2022 recruit with a 247Sports composite rating of .8743. With returning starter Isiah Lewis leading the Buffs’ group of safeties, Dixson will likely battle Trevor Woods and Tyrin Taylor for playing time.
