ACC team recruiting rankings – July update

An updated look at the 2024 team recruiting rankings in the ACC.

Dabo Swinney and the Clemson football program have been working hard in the 2024 recruiting class and have successfully built one of the country’s top classes up to this point.

Two top-tier recruits highlight Clemson’s 2024 class in linebacker Sammy Brown and wide receiver Bryant Wesco, each with the talent to be a future star for the program. The latest addition to the Tigers class was four-star cornerback Corian Gipson, who committed to the Tigers Saturday over Texas and others.

With 17 commitments in the class, the Tigers have one of the strongest classes in the country and the strongest in the ACC right now.

Here is a look at the current ACC 2024 recruiting rankings according to On3’s industry ranking football team recruiting rankings.

Top 10 most-popular College Football programs based on fans

See which college football programs are the most popular based on how many fans they have heading into the 2023 season.

College Football is one of the most popular sports in the nation. The passion, tradition and drama make it exciting to watch. The real question is: which programs have the most fans?

A study done by SBRnet, analyzed by AL.com and the Center for Sports Analytics at Samford University.

Alabama ranked No. 2 in 2022, but takes a steep fall heading into the 2023 season. Passing the Crimson Tide are a few teams that are rather surprising.

As expected, Ohio State takes the top spot by a wide margin. See which programs make up the rest of the top 10 with the most fans in the nation.

Updated look at ACC football recruiting rankings for 2024

Here is an early look at how each team in the ACC is doing so far in the 2024 recruiting cycle.

The 2023 recruiting cycle is completed with national signing day in the books and Clemson, along with each team around the country having their 23′ classes solidified and signed.

Clemson has been one of the most consistent teams in the country, recruiting in the Dabo Swinney era. While this should continue, other programs around the ACC are getting back on track as they look to reclaim their former glory. With Name, Image, and Likeness changing the game in ways nobody could have ever imagined just a few years ago, football recruiting has shifted to a sign earlier landscape, making every bit of time count in the process.

Things are ramping up in the 24′ cycle, with ACC schools such as Florida State and Louisville already have five-star recruits committed as the ACC looks to compete with other Power 5 conferences over recruiting supremacy. So, who are the top classes in the ACC so far?

Here is an early look at the ACC football recruiting rankings for 2024 based on 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Rutgers football: Four-star Isaiah Crumpler details his recruitment and upcoming spring game visits

Isaiah Crumpler is hoping to visit Rutgers at the end of the month.

Isaiah Crumpler is seeing his recruitment continue to develop, this as the class of 2024 wide receiver and Rutgers football recruit is working his way towards a summertime commitment.

Last year in 11 games, Crumpler had 55 catches for 614 yards with five touchdowns for D.H. Conley (Greenville, N.C.). He is a 6-foot, 175-pound wide receiver who is ranked a four-star in the 247Sports Composite.

He holds Power Five offfers from Duke and Rutgers. He also has significant offers from the likes of Charlotte, East Carolina and James Madison.

“It’s been great, I have been enjoying the process a lot,” Crumpler told Rutgers Wire this week.

“I will be at Duke’s spring game this coming Saturday and will be going to the Rutgers spring game on April 29.”

Sam Pilof, who committed to Rutgers football over the weekend, made Crumpler one of his first contacts after his decision. Crumpler has the potential to be an explosive addition to any Power Five offense.

Pilof is a three-star linebacker from Wisconsin and a top five player in the state.

As one of his two Power Five offers, Crumpler says that things are going well with Rutgers.

“Things are great between Rutgers and I; we stay in contact a lot,” Crumpler said.

“The coaches really want me there and they have shown it from my first visit and all of my conversations with them.”

One of the developing relationships at Rutgers is with Dave Brock. The wide receivers coach was hired this offseason and brings an impressive resume to Rutgers after spending his previous five years with the Atlanta Falcons. His last three seasons in the NFL he was the wide receivers coach for the Falcons.

“Things are great between coach Brock and I, he’s a really good coach and has coached at the top level,” Crumpler said.

“He’s a coach that knows the kind of work you need to put in to make it to the pros.”

Crumpler will be taking an official visit to East Carolina on June 22. Rutgers will get an official visit from Crumpler on June 2.

2023 College Football Rankings 1-133: First Look

Duke Football Schedule What To Know: Who do the Blue Devils miss from the ACC slate?

The Blue Devils catch a few bad breaks, and one of them is who they miss from the ACC schedule. Every ACC team doesn’t play five other ACC teams, and not getting Boston College and Georgia Tech hurts.

Miami, Syracuse, and Virginia Tech are all going to be a bit better, but missing them means four teams that didn’t go bowling last year are off the slate.

Duke Football Schedule What Really Matters

Get rolling early.

Duke doesn’t catch any big breaks overall in the ACC schedule, and having to play Notre Dame doesn’t help. On the plus side, that’s at home, as it the ACC and season opener against Clemson.

The date at UConn is the only road game before late October, so again with the good – there are five home games in the first six. And then with the bad – again, Clemson and Notre Dame are among those dates, as is a tough game against NC State. That all leads to a stretch of four road games in five weeks in the second half.

Duke Football Schedule What To Know: What does it all really mean?

It’s a quirky slate. All the tough home games early will be trying, and none of the late road dates are a given. However, for what should be a strong Duke team returning, getting to six wins is more than possible.

It might take a late November win to get there, but the schedule is just manageable enough to expect a solid season.

Military Bowl What Happened

Duke had no problems moving the ball on a depleted UCF defense. QB Riley Leonard ran for two touchdowns, Jaquez Moore starting the scoring with a 14-yard dash, and Todd Pelino hit three field goals. The Blue Devils were up 20-7 at halftime and 23-7 before UCF got back on the board.

Isaiah Bowser ran for two short touchdowns for the Knights – tying it at seven in the first quarter and closing out a long drive in the fourth – but the offense couldn’t stay on the field long enough. Two turnovers – especially a fumble by QB John Rhys Plumlee – turned the tide.

UCF fought the good fight. It was missing a slew of key players on both sides of the ball – especially on defense – and Duke had just about everyone available. It showed – the Blue Devils were far crispier offensively and looked like the regular season self on defense.

Military Bowl Fun Stats

– John Rhys Plumlee was a bit questionable before the game, but he battled through hitting 21-of-34 passes for 182 yards with an interception and fumble and ran for 21 yards on 14 carries. Isaiah Bowser led the team with 39 rushing yards and two scores.

– Sacks: Duke 6 – UCF 0. Duke LB Cam Dillon led the team with nine gables and a game-high two sacks

– Time of Possession: Duke 34:28 – UCF 25:32

Military Bowl What It All Means

It might have been among the most underappreciated stories of the 2022 season – Duke was fantastic in Mike Elko’s first season. It only lost four games with three of them by three points or fewer, and the other a 35-27 fight against Kansas when it was rolling at the time.

This was the program’s first winning season since 2018 and the first nine-win campaign since 2014. It was also the first bowl appearance since 2018, and with the victory Duke has won four straight since 2015.

This wasn’t really a fair representation of UCF. It was missing way too many important parts on both sides of the ball, but it was still a good effort and is still closed out the program’s fifth season with nine wins or more in the last six. With the loss, though, that makes it five bowl losses in the last eight and took Gus Malzahn’s bowl record to 3-6.
