How Oregon Ducks performed during NFL Week 11 action

Justin Herbert and Marcus Mariota played well, and Juwan Johnson continued his touchdown streak in another good week for Ducks in the NFL.

The NFL is now well over halfway through the regular season, and a plethora of Oregon Ducks alumni are shining at the game’s highest level.

Marcus Mariota helped lead the Falcons to victory on Sunday, securing his fourth rushing touchdown of the season while also throwing for a score. Justin Herbert’s Chargers couldn’t pull off a win over the Chiefs, but Herbert completed over 75% of his passes and found the end zone twice.

Meanwhile, Saints wide receiver Juwan Johnson scored a touchdown for the third week in a row, giving him five TD’s in the past five weeks.

Shane Lemieux made his return to the field for the Giants, who got ran off the field by Penei Sewell and the Detroit Lions for their third straight victory.

Troy Hill and Deommodore Lenoir continued strong performances in the secondary for Los Angeles and San Francisco, respectively, and DeForest Buckner remains a wrecking ball up front for the Colts.

How Oregon Ducks performed during NFL Week 10 action

Former Oregon Ducks quarterbacks Marcus Mariota and Justin Herbert struggled in Week 10, but other UO alumni in the NFL had big games.

The NFL is now 10 weeks into the 2022 season, with the playoff picture starting to get a little bit clearer in both the AFC and NFC.

The Oregon Ducks continue to have high profile performances across the professional landscape, although the school’s two quarterback alumni – Justin Herbert and Marcus Mariota – struggled in Week 10 for the Chargers and Falcons, respectively.

Elsewhere around the NFL, Oregon alumni Terrance Mitchell hauled in his first interception of the season – and ninth in his career – for the Titans, while Saints receiver Juwan Johnson tied a career high with his fourth touchdown reception of the season.

DeForest Buckner and Kayvon Thibodeaux remained key cogs on the defensive line for Indianapolis and New York, respectively, while rookie Verone McKinley had a career performance for Miami opposite another Oregon alumni, Jevon Holland.

How Oregon Ducks performed during NFL Week 9 action

The Marcus Mariota vs. Justin Herbert matchup was underwhelming, but there were still plenty of great Duck performances in NFL’s Week 9.

Oregon Ducks fans had an opportunity to see two of the greatest quarterbacks in school history, Marcus Mariota and Justin Herbert, go against each other on Sunday when the Atlanta Falcons took on the Los Angeles Chargers.

The game itself was a bit of a disappointment, with Mariota only completing 12 passes and Herbert throwing a touchdown and an interception while leading his team to a victory.

Still, it’s incredible to see two Oregon alumni starting at quarterback in the NFL, and many of the school’s other players had great weeks on the gridiron.

Juwan Johnson secured his third receiving touchdown of the season on Monday Night Football against Baltimore, while DeForest Buckner recorded his fifth sack of the season and Terrance Mitchell had four solo tackles for Tennessee.

In a week where many former Ducks were on a bye, there were still plenty of performances to celebrate. Here is a look at how every Oregon alumni performed during NFL Week 9 action:

How Oregon Ducks performed during NFL Week 8 action

Marcus Mariota was outstanding, and Johnny Mundt pulled in his first NFL touchdown in another great week for Oregon Ducks in the NFL.

The 2022 NFL season is roughly halfway done, and once again Oregon Ducks alumni were all over the place on Sunday.

While Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers had a bye week, fellow Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota had himself a nice performance for Atlanta in a win over Carolina.

Mariota set season highs with completions (20) passing yards (253) and passing touchdowns (3) while his team put up 37 points in the victory.

Elsewhere, former Oregon tight end Johnny Mundt scored the first touchdown of his career for Minnesota on Sunday, highlighting what was otherwise a quiet week for Oregon’s offensive contributors.

On defense, we saw DeForest Buckner pick up his fourth sack of the season, while special teams extraordinaire Troy Dye recovered a fumble and star safety Jevon Holland recorded a season-high 10 solo tackles for the Dolphins.

How Oregon Ducks performed during NFL Week 4 action

Oregon legends Justin Herbert and Marcus Mariota each picked up an NFL victory, but their performances were quite a bit different in Week 4.

The Oregon Ducks have two starting NFL quarterbacks week in and week out, a testament to the strength of the program over the last decade.

Week 4 saw those two quarterbacks each pick up a win, although the two performances varied wildly in individual success.

Justin Herbert led the Chargers to victory by throwing for 340 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while Marcus Mariota only completed seven passes, while throwing an interception and only rushing for three yards.

Each team is no doubt happy to pick up a victory, but it’s fair to wonder if Mariota will hold on to the starting job for the entire season in Atlanta.

Elsewhere, Kayvon Thibodeaux had a nice second game with New York, Penei Sewell helped Jared Goff and the Lions put up 45 points (but still lose) and Deommodore Lenoir picked up the first sack of his NFL career.

How Oregon Ducks performed during NFL Week 3 action

Oregon Ducks legend Kayvon Thibodeaux made his NFL debut with the New York Giants, while Justin Herbert struggled in his return from injury.

The third week of the NFL season is already in the rearview mirror, and a handful of Oregon Ducks had successful performances for their respective teams.

The biggest news was the debut of Kayvon Thibodeaux, the fifth overall selection in the 2022 NFL draft by the New York Giants. Thibodeaux recorded a tackle and a pass defended in his debut, and should see his production increase as he gets settled into his new digs at the pro level.

Justin Herbert returned from his rib injury with mixed results in Week 3, while the Chargers lost badly to the Jaguars.

Oregon’s defensive backs had nice showings, with Jevon Holland, Deommodore Lenoir, and Terrance Mitchell all having huge games with Miami, San Francisco, and Tennessee respectively.

Mitchell was making his Titans debut, having been plucked from the Patriots practice squad earlier in the week.

How Oregon Ducks performed during NFL Week 2 action

Justin Herbert battled through an injury, Marcus Mariota threw two touchdowns, and several other Oregon Ducks in the NFL performed well.

The second week of NFL action came and went, and for fans of the Oregon Ducks the main story was the heroic effort of former quarterback Justin Herbert, who returned for the Chargers and played despite suffering injuries to his ribs that left him in obvious pain.

He is currently labeled as okay heading into Week 3, according to head coach Brandon Staley, and his return to the field garnered plenty of attention on social media.

Elsewhere around the league, Marcus Mariota threw the first two touchdowns of his Atlanta Falcons career – along with a pair of picks – while Justin Hollins recorded a sack for the Rams, Juwan Johnson hauled in four receptions for the Saints, and Penei Sewell had another excellent game up front for Detroit.

While we await the eventual debut of Giants rookie defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux, here is a look at how every Oregon alumni performed during NFL Week 2 action:

How Oregon Ducks performed during NFL Week 1 action

The 2022 NFL season is here, and Week 1 saw multiple Oregon Ducks alumni have excellent games, including quarterback Justin Herbert.

While Oregon Ducks fans weren’t able to see any of the team’s new rookies, notably Kayvon Thibodeaux, debut in the NFL over the weekend – there were still a lot of excellent performances from players who used to don the green and yellow in Week 1.

Justin Herbert and Marcus Mariota each had successful season debuts under center for Los Angeles and Atlanta, respectively, while a pair of defensive backs (Troy Hill and Jevon Holland) secured interceptions in their first games of the year.

Meanwhile, Ugo Amadi and Johnny Mundt endeared themselves to their new teams quite well, while Jake Hanson stepped into a starting role for the Green Bay Packers, and Penei Sewell continued to dominate for the Detroit Lions.

All-in-all it was a successful first week for Oregon alumni, with more excitement to come once Thibodeaux makes his season debut.

Every Oregon Duck on an NFL roster for start of the 2022 season

NFL teams have trimmed rosters down to 53 players, and there are a couple dozen Ducks who will be suiting up on Sundays. Here’s a look at who made the cut.

The 2022 NFL season is nearly upon us, and over 20 former Oregon Ducks are going to see the field this year.

Rookie defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux is one of the big names to watch for Oregon fans this season, after he was somewhat surprisingly the only Duck selected in the 2022 NFL draft.

Other draft hopefuls included Verone McKinley, Mykael Wright, and CJ Verdell, but all three went undrafted and as of this writing none of them are on NFL rosters or practice squads, a rough end to the Mario Cristobal era in Eugene.

Anthony Brown did make the practice squad for Baltimore, however, and his performance during preseason even further emphasizes the struggles of last season’s offense under Cristobal.

The rest of the list contains many fan favorites from the last few years, including quarterbacks Justin Herbert and Marcus Mariota, running backs Kenjon Barner and Royce Freeman, and defensive tackles Arik Armstead and DeForest Buckner.

Here’s a look at all 24 Ducks set to begin the 2022 season in the NFL:

Seahawks trade former Oregon DB Ugo Amadi to Philadelphia Eagles

Former Oregon Ducks defensive back Ugo Amadi was reportedly traded from the Seattle Seahawks to the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday.

Former Oregon Ducks defensive back Ugo Amadi is on the move, getting shipped from the Seattle Seahawks to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for wide receiver J.J. Arcega-Whiteside, per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

Amadi joined the Seahawks as a fourth round pick out of Oregon in the 2019 NFL draft. He appeared in 47 games over the past three seasons, starting 12 and totaling 125 combined tackles, six tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and one interception while playing primarily out of the slot.

However, the return of Justin Coleman and the emergence of former Utah defensive back Marquise Blair gave Amadi plenty of competition in Pete Carroll’s defense, and after a down year in 2021 he’ll head to Philadelphia in exchange for a once promising wide receiver who was selected a few spots ahead of DK Metcalf in 2019.

Amadi will come in and challenge for snaps as Philadelphia’s nickel cornerback, and will likely factor in on the special teams as well.
