Former Michigan State football LS has new home

Former MSU specialist is headed to Western Kentucky

Drew Wilson stepped in for Michigan State big time in 2023, coming in as a backup long snapper to start the year, but finishing the year playing in eight games. The former specialist transferred out of the program following the season, and since has found his new home.

Wilson is listed on Western Kentucky’s roster ahead of the 2024 campaign, where he will suit up for the Hilltoppers.

Giants announce new hires, more coaching changes

The New York Giants have officially announced the hire of Frank Piraino and revealed several new title changes for members of their staff.

As the NFL heads toward the new league year on March 13, the New York Giants continue to add to and tweak their coaching staff.

This week they announced that Frank Piraino was officially hired as the team’s new director of strength and conditioning.

Drew Wilson, the Giants’ assistant strength and conditioning coach for the past three seasons, has been given a new title: assistant director of strength and conditioning.

In other news, Mike Adams — the Giants’ assistant special teams coach last season — has been named the team’s assistant secondary coach and will work with both defensive backs coach/passing game coordinator Jerome Henderson and safeties coach Mike Treier.

Piraino is the fourth former Tennessee Titans coach to move to the Giants this offseason. The others are defensive coordinator Shane Bowen, tight ends coach Tim Kelly, and defensive assistant Zak Kuhr.

MSU adds another recruit to its 2024 recruiting class:

Michigan State has added a new member to the 2024 recruiting class, this time bolstering the team’s special teams unit. Drew Wilson, a long snapper from Long Beach City College, a JUCO in California. He is originally from Redondo Beach, California. Standing at 6-foot-3 and 220 pounds, Wilson will provide stability to the long snapper position on the special teams unit. He is coming to MSU as a walk on.

Giants add to front office, performance staff with multiple hires

The New York Giants made additions to their front office and their strength and conditioning staff with two hires on Monday.

The New York Giants announced two personnel moves on Monday, one in the front office and one in the performance staff of the coaching ranks.

Kyle O’Brien will assume the team’s newly created position of senior personnel executive and Drew Wilson will be the Giants’ new assistant strength and conditioning coach.

O’Brien has nearly two decades of NFL experience beginning as the New England Patriots’ pro personnel department in 2000. He spent the last fives seasons as the vice president of player personnel for the Detroit Lions.

Wilson fills the opening on the strength and conditioning team under Craig Fitzgerald left by the departure of Thomas Stallworth, who left the Giants after three seasons to become the Atlanta Falcons’ strength and conditioning coach.

Wilson spent the last four years as the director of football strength and conditioning at the University of Colorado. Prior to that, Wilson worked on the staffs of Maryland, UConn, Kansas and Florida State.
