A Michigan State defensive tackle has declared for the NFL Draft

Michigan State basketball got a massive addition in the 2024 season when they acquired Georgia Tech defensive tackle transfer D’Quan Douse. Douse was a bright spot to the defense and had a big year in 2024.

During the season, Douse finished with 25 tackles, 6 tackles for loss and one sack. He will now try and make a career for himself in the National Football League. Douse officially declared for the 2025 NFL Draft.

The 6’2″, 300 pound defensive tackle has a sneaky chance to be selected in the later rounds of the draft.

It was Michigan State’s defense that got the first points on the board for the Spartans in the Jonathan Smith era.

Michigan State was able to strike first in Friday night’s season-opening matchup against Florida Atlantic thanks to a safety. Defensive lineman D’Quan Douse was able to get to the quarterback in the back of the endzone to earn the Spartans a safety and an early 2-0 lead over the Owls.

Georgia Tech DT transfer D’Quan Douse commits to Michigan State football

BREAKING: MSU gets the commitment of Georgia Tech DT D’Quan Douse

Michigan State has made a splash at a position of need on Tuesday evening, earning the commitment of Georgia Tech defensive tackle D’Quan Douse. A 6-foot-2, 290 pound defensive tackle, Douse is a native of Savannah (GA) and has spent the past four seasons with Georgia Tech.

In those four seasons, Douse has recorded 69 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks and 3 forced fumbles. He was a major rotational piece for the Yellow Jackets over the past two seasons.

He will have two years of eligibility remaining in East Lansing.
