A featherweight banger has been added to UFC 310.

[autotag]Dooho Choi[/autotag]takes on [autotag]Nate Landwehr[/autotag] Dec. 7 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas (ESPN+ pay-per-view, ESPN2, ESPN+). A person with knowledge of the situation confirmed the booking to MMA Junkie following an initial report from MMA Mania.

Dooho Choi explains emotional display at UFC on ESPN 60 after first win since 2016

“The Korean Superboy” Dooho Choi admits self-doubt began to build before picking up his first UFC win in eight years.

LAS VEGAS – [autotag]Dooho Choi[/autotag] was overcome with emotion after picking up his first win in eight years.

At UFC on ESPN 60, Choi (15-4-1 MMA, 4-3-1 UFC) stopped Bill Algeo in the second round with punches. It was his first win since stopping Thiago Tavares in June 2016.

Immediately after the referee stopped the fight after Algeo (18-9 MMA, 5-5 UFC) dropped to the canvas, emotions were fully displayed as “The Korean Superboy” began crying inside the octagon.

“I got emotional because this win was a long time coming,” Choi said through an interpreter at a post-fight news conference. “It’s been a while since I won and the last time it didn’t go very well. I heard all the haters, all the people that said I’m done and I can’t do it anymore. It started to affect me and I started to doubt myself a little bit. I was thinking is this really it? Am I really done? I kept faith in myself and I had to prove it to myself.”

After his win against Tavares, Choi would go on to lose to Cub Swanson, Jeremy Stephens and Charles Jourdain. Then, in his previous outing in Feb. 2023 against Kyle Nelson, the judges declared the fight a majority draw, adding another frustrating result to a tough run.

Choi admits that he began to doubt his abilities.

“I just know this is the one thing that I’m good at,” Choi said. “If I try my best and leave it all out there, then if it doesn’t go my way, then maybe I can accept that maybe I don’t have it. But I kept believing in myself, kept trying, and got it done.”

Now that he’s back in the winner’s column, Choi wants to get out of the UFC Apex, where he has competed in back-to-back outings. After all, just four fights ago, he was a headliner in front of over 10,000 people.

“I’m a crowd-pleasing fighter, so it’s a bummer my last two fights have been with a small crowd,” Choi said. “So, I want to fight in front of a big crowd, and I want to fight someone in the rankings.”

UFC on ESPN 60 video: Dooho Choi painfully cracks Bill Algeo for first win since 2016

“The Korean Super Boy” Dooho Choi hadn’t won in the UFC since 2016 – until Saturday vs. Bill Algeo.

For the first time in 2016, [autotag]Dooho Choi[/autotag] has won.

Saturday at UFC on ESPN 60, “The Korean Super Boy” Choi (15-4-1 MMA, 4-3-1 UFC) picked up his first victory in over seven years when he finished [autotag]Bill Algeo[/autotag] (18-9 MMA, 5-5 UFC) with strikes at 3:38 of Round 2. The fight kicked off the main card at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

A big left hand cracked Algeo in the face. Though Algeo reset as if he was good to continue, the damage sank in and he covered up in pain. Not much more damage was dished as referee Herb Dean intervened.

Choi, 33, has faced a litany of career delays in recent years, having only four times since his 2016 victory over Thiago Tavares. Choi was 0-3 with one no contest in that stretch. Military obligations and injuries delayed his return.

Algeo, 35, falls into a two-fight skid, having lost to Kyle Nelson in March.

The up-to-the-minute UFC on ESPN 60 results include:

  • Dooho Choi def. Bill Algeo via
  • Hyder Amil def. Jeong Yeong Lee via TKO (punches) – Round 1, 1:05
  • Cody Gibson def. Brian Kelleher via submission (arm triangle choke) – Round 1, 3:58
  • Miranda Maverick def. Dione Barbosa via unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27, 30-27)

Bill Algeo vs. Dooho Choi prediction, pick, start time, odds for UFC on ESPN 60

A fun featherweight scrap fills out the UFC on ESPN 60 main card. Will Bill Algeo prevent Dooho Choi from getting back on track?

[autotag]Bill Algeo[/autotag] and [autotag]Dooho Choi[/autotag] meet Saturday on the main card of UFC on ESPN 60 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Check out this quick breakdown of the matchup from MMA Junkie analyst Dan Tom.

Last event: 4-1-1
UFC main cards, 2024: 58-52-3

Bill Algeo vs. Dooho Choi UFC on ESPN 60 preview

Algeo (18-8 MMA, 5-4 UFC) has a pattern of losing one and winning two over his past six fights. He enters his second fight of 2024 following a first-round TKO loss to Kyle Nelson. Before that, he won a unanimous decision win vs. Alexander Hernandez and submitted TJ Brown. … Choi (14-4-1 MMA, 3-3-1 UFC) will be hunting for his first win since December 2016. “The Korean Superboy” has failed to record a victory in four consecutive fights, losing three, and drawing with Nelson in his last appearance in February 2023. Prior to this rough stretch, Choi was virtually untouchable as a winner of 12 straight fights.

Bill Algeo vs. Dooho Choi UFC on ESPN 60 expert pick, prediction

Algeo is coming off an unfortunate stoppage that was arguably a tad bit early, but “Senior Perfecto” is always one to put on a show regardless of whether or not he wins or loses.

The same can be said for Choi, though it’s ultimately hard to know what to make of “The Korean Superboy” considering the inconsistency that’s plagued his career for the last eight or so years.

Although part of me would love to see Choi finally get back on track, I suspect that this fight could get ugly for him if he’s not able to put Algeo away early.

I’ll officially side with Algeo to survive the early storm and find a finish in Round 2.

Bill Algeo vs. Dooho Choi UFC on ESPN 60 odds

The oddsmakers and the public are siding with the American, listing Algeo -170 and Choi +138 via FanDuel.

Bill Algeo vs. Dooho Choi UFC on ESPN 60 start time, how to watch

UFC on ESPN 60: Dooho Choi vs. Bill Algeo odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s UFC on ESPN 60 odds between Dooho Choi vs. Bill Algeo, with MMA picks and predictions.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

In a 3-round featherweight bout on the main card, Dooho Choi and Bill Algeo meet Saturday at UFC on ESPN 60 — also known as UFC Vegas 94 — at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas. Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the UFC on ESPN 60: Choi vs. Algeo odds, and make our expert picks and predictions.

The prelims begin 5:30 p.m. ET, also on ESPN2/ESPN+, while the main card starts at 8 p.m. ET, also on ESPN/ESPN+.

Records: Choi (14-4-1) | Algeo (18-8-0)

Choi snapped a 3-bout losing skid last time out. Sort of. He fought to a draw against Kyle Nelson in early Feb. 2023, after losing the previous 2 bouts via Round 2 KO/TKO against Charles Jourdain and Jeremy Stephens, while falling to Cub Swanson at UFC 206 via unanimous decision, a fight of the year nominee.

His last victory came Dec. 10, 2016, in a unanimous-decision win over Thiago Tavares, a fight that earned him a Performance of the Night bonus.

Choi has cited numerous injuries over the years, pulling out of scheduled fights. He suffered a fractured arm in the KO/TKO loss to Jourdain, and he had some personal issues outside of the octagon in 2021, which led to a fight hiatus, too.

For Algeo, he is looking to bounce back from a 1st-round KO/TKO to Nelson in late March. He is 4-2 in the past 6 fights, including a KO/TKO win against Herbert Burns, a submission win over TJ Brown and 2 unanimous-decision victories. He has shown tremendous versatility, and he’ll put Choi’s defense to the test.

UFC on ESPN 60: Choi vs. Algeo odds

Provided by FanDuel Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated at 10:22 a.m. ET.

  • Fight result (2-way line): Choi +148 (bet $100 to win $148) | Algeo -176 (bet $176 to win $100)
  • Over/Under: 2.5 rounds (Over -190 | Under +148)
  • Will the fight go the distance? (Yes -148 | No +116)

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3012″ ]

UFC on ESPN 60: Choi vs. Algeo picks and predictions

Fight result (2-way line or moneyline)

ALGEO (-176) is a little on the pricey side, but he’s a strong play against Choi (+148).

Choi just has been in and out of the octagon, logging just 3 UFC fights since Dec. 2016. And he hasn’t won since July 2016. While the South Korean fighter always makes it difficult for his opponent, one has to wonder about his cardio or stamina.

The fact Choi hasn’t won in nearly 8 years is already a red flag. And he is facing Algeo, a fighter hungry to get back into the win column after losing in Round 1 last time out.

Over/Under (O/U)

NO (+116): WILL THE FIGHT GO THE DISTANCE? is worth a look at plus-money, as Choi just hasn’t had a lot of fights under his belt in the past 8 years. For the South Korean to go the distance, it wouldn’t be quite a surprise.

Since making his UFC debut in Nov. 2014, Choi has gone the distance just twice.

Algeo has ended up going the distance twice in the past 5 fights, but he has also ended 2 of his past 3 bouts before the midway point of Round 2.

UFC Fight Night 218: Dooho Choi vs. Kyle Nelson odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 218 odds and lines between Dooho Choi and Kyle Nelson, with MMA picks, tips and predictions.

In a featherweight bout on the main card, Dooho Choi and Kyle Nelson meet Saturday at UFC Fight Night 218 — also known as UFC Vegas 68 — at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas. Let’s analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the UFC Fight Night 218: Choi vs. Nelson odds, and make our expert picks and predictions.

The prelims on ESPN+ start at 7 p.m. PT, and the main card on ESPN+ begins at 10 p.m PT.

Choi heads into this fight on a 3-bout losing skid, including a 2nd round KO/TKO loss against Charles Jourdain in his most recent fight in Dec. 2019. Choi was expected to fight Danny Chavez at UFC on ESPN 28 in July 2021 but was forced to withdraw from the bout due to injury.

Nelson is also on a skid, losing each of his past 2 fights in the 3rd round. He had a unanimous-decision loss to Jai Herbert in July and was knocked out by Billy Quarantillo 2 years prior. His only win in 5 fights at the UFC level was a round 1 KO/TKO against Polo Reyes in Sept. 2019.

Choi holds a 5.32-to-3.34 significant strikes landed per minute advantage, while Nelson has been better on the canvas at the UFC level.

UFC Fight Night 218: Choi vs. Nelson picks and predictions

Records: Choi (14-4) | Nelson (13-5)

Fight result (2-way line or moneyline)

CHOI (-190) is a punching machine who should be able to sneak by Nelson in this undercard bout. He not only holds a significant strikes landed advantage, but he is also slightly more accurate, too.

Choi has had 5 of his 6 fights at the UFC level end via KO/TKO, with 3 wins and 2 losses, and he’ll keep that going in this bout. Look to CHOI BY TKO/KO (+112) at plus-money for a solid value.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 1.5 ROUNDS (-150) is worth playing despite the KO/TKO call for method of victory.

Both of Choi’s past 2 fights have resulted in KO/TKO losses, but each were in the 2nd half of the 2nd round.

Nelson has gone into the 3rd round in 3 of his 5 fights at the UFC level so far. This won’t end early.
