Miami loss ‘ended everything’ for Florida OL flip target

Florida’s Week 1 loss to Miami didn’t do the program any favors on the recruiting front, especially when it comes to flip targets.

Several flip targets for Florida were in Gainesville for the Week 1 beatdown Miami delivered to the Orange and Blue, including Georgia interior offensive line commit [autotag]Dontrell Glover[/autotag].

Offered in March, Glover never made it to Florida during the spring or summer. He committed to the Bulldogs in late June but kept an open mind heading into the regular season.

Perhaps a flip is still on the table for Glover, but his recent comments to 247Sports’ Blake Alderman indicate Florida is just about out of the race.

“It was a good game, but Florida didn’t do what I expected them to do” Glover said. “Miami was a great team. I just feel like, I was into Florida earlier in my recruitment, but now it really ended everything.”

For what it’s worth, Glover never seemed too interested in Florida, but the Gators are desperately trying to add some impact players to the trenches and early playing time was likely on the table. The coaching staff continues to stay in touch in hopes Glover isn’t completely done with Florida.

Glover said he is “locked in with Georgia,” but there is a chance he’ll return to The Swamp to see a win.

Recruiting Summary

Glover is a three-star recruit on 247Sports and On3’s individual rankings, but he is a four-star recruit on both organizations’ composites.

The 247Sports puts him at No. 296 overall and No. 17 among interior offensive linemen in the class of 2025, while the On3 industry ranking has him at Nos. 313 and 25, respectively.

Georgia leads the On3 recruiting prediction machine with a 79.4% chance to sign Glover, followed by Florida State (16.6%) and Alabama (1.5%).

Four-star Georgia target Dontrell Glover announces decision

Four-star interior offensive lineman Dontrell Glover announced his commitment among Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina, and Florida State.

After moving up his commitment date a matter of days ago, four-star interior offensive lineman Dontrell Glover announced his decision on Monday afternoon. Glover officially committed to the Georgia Bulldogs over Tennessee, South Carolina, and Florida State, giving Kirby Smart yet another major recruiting pickup in the month of June.

Glover is listed at 6-foot 2, 315 pounds, and plays at Langston Hughes High School in Fairburn, Georgia. He is the 16th rated interior offensive lineman in the nation per 247Sports and the 34th ranked prospect in the state of Georgia. While recruited as an interior lineman, he started at left tackle a season ago, showing his versatility.

With the addition of Glover, the Dawgs have now secured 14 commitments in the class of 2025. He joins fellow four-star Mason Short as the second offensive lineman to commit thus far, with more expected to come in the near future.

UGA football is officially on commit watch for a four-star Langston Hughes offensive line recruit

Four-star offensive lineman Dontrell Glover has moved up his commitment date from July 1 to June 24. Glover recently went on an official visit with the Georgia Bulldogs.

Glover is ranked as the No. 16 interior offensive lineman, the No. 34 player in Georgia and the No. 285 player in the 2025 cycle, per 247Sports.

Glover was committed to Alabama before decommitting following Nick Saban’s retirement. Glover’s final four schools are Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina and Florida State. Georgia is in the lead for the elite offensive line prospect.

The 6-foot-3, 315-pound lineman fits the mold of what Kirby Smart and his staff are looking for along the offensive front. Florida State appears to be an unlikely destination for Glover, who moved his June official visit with the Seminoles to the fall.

Kirby Smart continues to be a force on the recruiting trail. Georgia recently landed four commitments in the class of 2025 and has the No. 4 recruiting class in the nation.

Georgia has 13 commitments in the class of 2025, but the Dawgs and offensive line coach Stacy Searels have just one commitment along the offensive front in four-star Mason Short.

Kirby Smart continues to be a force in recruiting. Georgia recently landed four commitments in the class of 2025 and is one of the hottest recruiting programs in the country right now.

Georgia has consistently produced NFL draft picks along the offensive front during Smart’s time in Athens. Georgia is showing no sign of slowing.

Glover has an official visit to Tennessee scheduled for June 14 and one to Florida State on June 21. Tennessee and Florida State are hoping to make a strong impression on the Langston Hughes offensive lineman.

Georgia makes final schools for 4-star OL, former Alabama commit

Former Alabama commit Dontrell Glover includes Georgia among his final four schools…

Georgia is one of four programs still in play for four-star offensive lineman Dontrell Glover. The 2025 prospect plays for Langston Hughes High School (Georgia) and was previously pledged to Alabama before decommitting following Nick Saban’s retirement.

Glover announced his final four on Tuesday, featuring Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina and Florida State.

Glover (6-foot-3.5, 310 pounds) fits the mold of the large offensive linemen Kirby Smart and staff look for. Glover is the No. 16 interior offensive lineman, the No. 35 player in the state and the No. 279 player overall in his class, per the 247Sports Composite.

Smart’s Bulldogs have fine tuned their recruiting process when it comes to the line of scrimmage. UGA has produced 13 NFL draft picks along the offensive line during Smart’s tenure. As a result, Georgia’s recruiting pitch is a simple one — come to Athens for premier NFL development and content for a national championship while you’re at it.

Glover has an official visit to Georgia set for June 7 with a visit to Tennessee scheduled for June 14 and one to Florida State on June 21.

Four-star OL Dontrell Glover includes Tigers in top nine

As the fight continues to land four-star IOL Dontrell Glover, the Georgia product has narrowed his list to nine schools, including Auburn.

Offensive linemen have always been an important component to every college program’s recruiting class, being vital to every team’s success. The 2025 recruiting class brings a lot of power in its offensive line targets, and four-star [autotag]Dontrell Glover[/autotag] out of Langston Hughes High School (Ga.) is part of that group.

As of recently, Glover has narrowed down his college choices to nine schools. This list includes the likes of Auburn, Georgia Tech, Georgia, Florida State, Tennessee, Missouri, Miami (FL), Kentucky and Arkansas.

The interior offensive lineman has visited Auburn three times over the course of the recruiting process, the most out of any of the schools in his top nine.

Glover is the No. 231 overall player and No. 16 interior offensive lineman according to the On3 industry ranking. He is also the No. 31 player in the state of Georgia.

Auburn is currently in a tight race with Florida State to land the target, but a commit would be a great boost to the Tigers’ No. 10 2025 class. Glover would join Athens High School (Ala.) offensive tackle [autotag]Spencer Dowland[/autotag] if he decides to join the Auburn football program.

Former Alabama commit Dontrell Glover includes UGA among final schools

Georgia is in the running for former Alabama commit Dontrell Glover.

Georgia is in the running for four-star offensive lineman Dontrell Glover out of Langston Hughes High School in Fairburn, Georgia. The 2025 prospect recently included the Bulldogs among his top nine schools, per a report from On3’s Chad Simmons.

Glover (6 feet, 3 1/2 inches, 310 pounds) fits the mold of the large offensive lineman Kirby Smart and staff look for. Glover is the No. 9 interior offensive lineman, the No. 27 player in the state and the No. 193 player overall in his class, per 247Sports composite.

Glover was previously committed to Alabama before Nick Saban’s retirement and Kalen DeBoer’s move to Tuscaloosa. The Tide didn’t make the cut for Glover’s final nine.

Glover plans to choose among Georgia, Auburn, Missouri, Tennessee, Kentucky, Arkansas, Florida State, Miami and Georgia Tech.

I expect UGA’s recruiting pitch to Glover is a simple one. Few programs can point to the level of development Georgia can when it comes to offensive lineman. The Bulldogs’ success at the position in the NFL draft seemingly shows itself each year.

The Bulldogs have sent 11 offensive lineman to the NFL under Smart. UGA is expected to have two more offensive lineman taken in this year’s draft, including tackle Amarius Mims and center Sedrick Van Pran-Granger.

Tennessee is one of 13 Southeastern Conference schools to offer Glover. The Vols were the first school to offer a scholarship to Glover on Feb. 27, 2023.

The Vols have six commitments in its 2025 recruiting class: Quarterback George MacIntyre, tight end Jack Van Dorseiaer, cornerback Dylan Lewis, running back Justin Baker, wide receiver Joakim Dodson and cornerback Tyler Redmond.

List of top Alabama recruits who have decommitted since Nick Saban retired

After Alabama coach Nick Saban announced his retirement, football recruits began decommitmenting from the Crimson Tide. See the list here.

Longtime Alabama head coach Nick Saban’s retirement sent a shock wave around college football as the sport lost not only a legend but one of the greatest coaches of all time. A key part of game planning, program strategy, and recruitment, Saban touched all elements of arguably the top program of modern college football.

With his exit, many top high school football recruits who chose Alabama are now reconsidering their decision. Five-star prospects including Ryan Williams, Jaime Ffrench and Zion Grady are among those who have announced intentions to re-evaluate the college football market and have conversations with other teams they previously passed on in favor of Alabama and Saban.

Take a look at the list of former Alabama commits back on the market. All rankings are according to the 247Sports Composite:

Another Auburn target is back on the open market.

Four-star offensive lineman [autotag]Dontrell Glover[/autotag] decommitted from Alabama on Tuesday. Glover had been committed to the Crimson Tide since April 13, 2023, but has reopened his recruitment after Nick Sabam retired.

Glover visited the Auburn on Saturday and enjoyed his time on the Plains.

“Today, it was great. I felt more of the environment,” Glover told Auburn Undercover’s Christian Clemente. “I came to the basketball game and it was good vibes. It showed that the University loves their school, the students, the staff, it was a good time being down here.”

While offensive line coach [autotag]Jake Thornton[/autotag] is leading Auburn’s push for the Fairburn, Georgia product, safety Terrance Love played his high school football with Glover and gives Auburn another important connection.

Glover is the No. 169 overall player and No. 10 interior offenisve linemen in the 247Sports composite ranking. He is also the No. 24 player from Georgia.
