Well, Beyoncé didn’t end up performing at the 2024 DNC after all.
Despite heavy speculation of a possible appearance, music superstar Beyoncé didn’t ultimately make an appearance at Thursday night’s 2024 Democratic National Convention finale.
Apparently, she was never on the slate to begin with for the event.
A possible appearance made lots of sense in theory once word spread of a surprise guest to close out the 2024 DNC. Beyoncé gave the green light for Democratic Presidential nominee Kamala Harris to use the song “Freedom” for her and Tim Walz’s campaign.
Steph Curry made an appearance during the final night of the 2024 DNC.
Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr wasn’t the only member of his organization who appealed to the 2024 Democratic National Convention this week.
Warriors superstar Steph Curry made a virtual appearance on Thursday to show his support for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the upcoming presidential election for the DNCs final night, sporting his 2024 Paris Olympic gold medal in the video.
Curry compared the unity that it took for Team USA basketball to bring home the gold to the unity he feels Harris will bring to the country.
“This is about preserving hope and belief in our country,” Curry said in his remarks supporting Harris’ candidacy for president. “In the words of Michelle Obama, do something! Go vote. Be active. Let’s show out in November like never before.”
It sure looks like Beyoncé will make a surprise appearance on the final night of the 2024 DNC.
To close out the 2024 Democratic National Convention, a special guest has been tipped for the final night.
After CNN reported that a block of time during the 2024 DNC’s final night had been reserved for a surprise appearance, lots of guesses filled the air as to who it might be.
Well, all signs point to it being Beyoncé, who has given the green light for Democratic Presidential nominee Kamala Harris to use the song “Freedom” for her and Tim Walz’s campaign.
Two big hints came on Thursday afternoon after Rep. Fentrice Driskell filmed a band practicing Beyoncé’ songs on the DNC stage and White House Political Director Emmy Ruiz shared a bee emoji, which hints to the “Queen Bey” nickname and the “Beyhive” of Beyoncé fans.
We’ll know soon enough once the final night of the DNC kicks off in Chicago at the United Center, one where Harris will formally accept her party’s nomination for president and deliver her keynote address.
The Golden State Warriors head coach brought Steph Curry’s “night night” celebration to the Democratic National Convention.
Coming off a run to the Olympic gold medal in Paris with Team USA’s men’s basketball, Steve Kerr made the trip back to where he shared the court with Michael Jordan — the United Center. Yet, his trip to the home of the Chicago Bulls wasn’t for basketball, but for the Democratic National Convention.
Steve Kerr was one of the speakers on Monday in Chicago who gave a speech at the Democratic National Convention. Along with publicly endorsing, Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate Tim Walz, Steve Kerr finished his speech with a shoutout to the Golden State Warriors point guard.
Kerr spoke about telling former President and 2024 Republican candidate Donald Trump “night night.” To end his speech, Kerr reenacted Curry’s signature night night celebration.
In the words of the great Steph Curry, we can tell Donald Trump … night night.

Porter’s message was weird, wonderful and impossible to ignore.
Everyone was abuzz Tuesday morning about Michelle Obama’s keynote speech from the first night of the 2020 Democratic Convention, but what many people missed is what happened when the cameras cut away from her emotional rebuke of the sitting President.
Most networks went straight to their own talking heads for insight and analysis but in doing so deprived millions of viewers at home of this brilliant piece of performance art from Emmy Award winning actor Billy Porter. It had to be hard to follow up Obama’s speech, but Porter rose to the occasion with his rendition of Buffalo Springfield’s 60’s protest anthem “For What It’s Worth.”
If you missed the performance, it is my absolute delight to bring it to your attention now.
Accompanied by guitarist Stephen Stills, who wrote the song in response to the Sunset Strip crew riots of 1966, Porter stood in front of green screen that flashed images from today’s Black Lives Matter protests.
Decidedly and deliberately low tech, the number can really only be described as art, because like all good art, it really makes the viewer pause and wonder what the heck is going on.
Wearing a long, black vest with tails that he used to great affect, Porter’s stylized performance was over the top and the exact opposite of everything the DNC had done for the past two hours. There was nothing flashy about it, nothing that looked slick and over produced, which was the point. It had the feel of a cheap, 90’s home movie made in someone’s basement, which at least made it feel emotional and authentic.
He sang and danced while images of protests, NBA athletes kneeling and an inverted American flag flashed behind him. Like Porter himself, there’s nothing subtle about this performance and it’s designed to hold your attention (it literally features a giant screen with the word STOP written on it). It was easy to tune out much of the ideologues from last night, but it was not easy too look away from Porter and Stills.
Regardless of your political leanings —whether you’re a Republican or a Democrat or Libertarian or plan to vote for Kanye —Porter’s total and absolute weirdness should be embraced. Everyone wants slick, pre-produced messages that don’t actually say anything. Always wiling to go against the grain, Porter’s message was joyous, powerful and impossible to ignore.
