The two former UFC stars completed a nearly two-week press conference tour across the U.S., stopping in Las Vegas, New York, Miami, and Los Angeles to promote their upcoming boxing match on June 1. During the media tour, both Diaz and Masvidal teased MMA returns – which would obviously be huge for the sport.

Nate Diaz bails on final press conference with Jorge Masvidal: ‘Square off with yourself, motherf*cker’

Nate Diaz closed the final stop of his press conference tour vs. Jorge Masvidal in a very on-brand fashion.

[autotag]Nate Diaz[/autotag] closed the final stop of his press conference tour vs. [autotag]Jorge Masvidal[/autotag] in a very on-brand fashion.

After spending the past week traveling to Las Vegas, New York, Miami and finally Los Angeles, Diaz was unsurprisingly fed up with answering similar questions repeatedly in such close proximity with Masvidal.

The annoyance spilled over Friday, when Diaz took an early exit from the final stop of the four-city media tour ahead of the 10-round boxing match with Masvidal on June 1.

“I’m done with all this sh*t,” Diaz said. “I’m cool off all this f*cking talking sh*t. I got a whole team to represent. I don’t want to do none of this. I never wanted to do anything with it. F*ck this n*gga and f*ck his team, bro. I’m out. I’ve got to go.”

After three faceoffs, Diaz wanted no part in a fourth. And he made that much clear to Masvidal, who beat him by doctor’s stoppage TKO in their original meeting for the BMF title at UFC 244 in November 2019.

“Square off with yourself, motherf*cker,” Diaz said.

Jorge Masvidal proud to see fans bring Miami heat on Nate Diaz: ‘He definitely felt it’

Jorge Masvidal reacts to the Miami crowd taunting and heckling Nate Diaz during their press conference in Miami.

MIAMI – [autotag]Jorge Masvidal[/autotag] felt the support of his people in full force as they taunted and harassed rival [autotag]Nate Diaz[/autotag] in the latest tour stop promoting their upcoming boxing match.

On Wednesday night, Masvidal and Diaz spoke to the media and fans at a press conference on the Miami stop of “The Baddest Tour.” Chanting “305” and constantly calling out and booing Diaz, the crowd let Diaz know he was in enemy territory.

Masvidal was happy and proud to see his people have his back, and he believes it affected Diaz.

“It’s Dade County. I don’t give a f*ck who you are, you’re definitely going to feel the heat down here,” Masvidal told MMA Junkie. “From the moment you step up that f*cking airplane and you hit that airport, you’re going to feel that heat, and he definitely felt it.

“He sees now why I’m so violent and why I give everything I got for my crowd. We’re just bred a little different down here. You can just tell from the football athletes we produce to the boxers, everything we do out here is violence.”

Masvidal and Diaz are scheduled to fight in a boxing bout on June 1 at Kia Forum in Inglewood, Calif. This is somewhat of a rematch, as the two previously fought in the UFC back in 2019. The fight ended in a doctor’s stoppage TKO win for Masvidal, who was crowned the inaugural BMF champion that night in Madison Square Garden.

“Gamebred” thinks this press tour stop was much needed as he was fueled by the Miami crowd.

“To see my own people like that go hard for me, it always helps, it always motivates,” Masvidal said. “I look at their faces and all those motherf*ckers is me when I was growing up or when I get older – whatever stage they’re at. I see myself in them, so definitely it gives you that extra.”

Masvidal doesn’t want the fight to go to a decision or much less get stopped by doctor’s advice. He wants to put away Diaz and make his win definitive.

“Knock him dead,” Masvidal said when asked for a fight prediction. “I want no questions or nothing. I don’t want no man intervening on what I got to do. I have to kill the man, and that’s why I got these bad boys right here.”

Jorge Masvidal assures he’s making UFC return: ‘I’m definitely coming back’

Jorge Masvidal is not done with MMA just yet, as he promises a UFC return in the future.

MIAMI – It looks like [autotag]Jorge Masvidal[/autotag] is not done with MMA just yet.

The inaugural BMF champion and longtime UFC welterweight contender assures that he’ll make a return to the octagon in the near future, despite now diving into the boxing world.

Masvidal retired from fighting in April 2023 after suffering a unanimous decision loss to Gilbert Burns at UFC 287. He recently announced his comeback, as he booked a return to combat sport in the form of a boxing match against Nate Diaz, which takes place June 1 at Kia Forum in Inglewood, Calif.

After Diaz, Masvidal is angling to box other big names, starting he wants three bouts before eventually fighting in MMA once again.

“I wouldn’t mind taking on Logan Paul and rearranging his face,” Masvidal told MMA Junkie following “The Baddest Tour” press conference on Wednesday. “He’s a hell of a fighter in boxing for being an influencer. He did some good things against (Floyd) Mayweather, but I think I can end that dude. I think I can fight Logan, get my hands on Mayweather, (Manny) Paquiao down the road. There are other guys I want to fight.

“And I’m definitely coming back to the UFC and get a W for my city, for my family, my kids and everybody that believes in me. I have to go back to the UFC.”

Masvidal was excited to see his home crowd of Miami cheering for him at the press conference. He believes the crowd got to Diaz, and he promises his people a string of wins to come.

“This was the one city I was looking extra forward to for obvious reasons,” Masvidal said. “I was born and raised here, and we produce a lot of motherf*ckers from here that do a lot of amazing things throughout their career. It’s a huge honor to have the city have my back, and I definitely had to come back to fighting. I couldn’t go out on an L, specially for this city. I have to get several W’s before I can hang it up, and that’s never been more clear in my mind.”

Nate Diaz ‘100 percent’ guarantees Conor McGregor trilogy, calls Leon Edwards ‘best thing in the UFC right now’

Nate Diaz has what he’s calling his “hit list,” which includes a Conor McGregor trilogy, Leon Edwards rematch and more.

LAS VEGAS – [autotag]Nate Diaz[/autotag] is confident that he’ll complete his trilogy with [autotag]Conor McGregor[/autotag].

Diaz handed McGregor his first octagon loss when he scored an upset submission in their 2016 welterweight bout at UFC 196. McGregor was able to avenge the loss when he edged him out by majority decision at UFC 202.

Diaz is not currently under UFC contract, but Dana White said the octagon is always Diaz’s home if he’d like to return. McGregor, on the other hand, will return from an almost three-year layoff to face Michael Chandler on June 29 at UFC 303.

Diaz envisions standing across the octagon from McGregor again, as well as a few other familiar foes.

“I 100 percent guarantee I’m going to fight Conor McGregor again,” Diaz recently told reporters, including MMA Junkie. “I 100 percent guarantee that I’m probably going to fight Jake Paul again, this f*cking f*cker (Jorge Masvidal) again, and Leon Edwards again. That’s my hit list.”

Diaz, who suffered a doctor’s stoppage TKO loss to Masvidal in their 2019 BMF title fight, will run things back with “Gamebred” in a 10-round, 175-pound boxing match June 1 at Kia Forum in Inglewood, Calif.

He had high praise for UFC welterweight champion Leon Edwards, who was also on his hit list. Edwards was cruising against Diaz when they fought at UFC 263 until he was stunned with less than a minute remaining. He survived to win a unanimous decision.

“The coolest thing right now from the UFC is Leon Edwards,” Diaz said. “That’s what I got my sights on. I like that fight right now. I think he’s doing great. I think he got better, and he’s doing better. Good attitude, good fighter, I think he’s probably the best thing in the UFC right now.”

Jorge Masvidal rips ‘diva’ Nate Diaz for non-negotiable boxing stipulations

Former UFC BMF Jorge Masvidal is upset over the non-negotiable terms Nate Diaz demanded for their upcoming boxing match.

LAS VEGAS – [autotag]Jorge Masvidal[/autotag] is rolling with the punches, but he’s pretty upset with the way Nate Diaz has handled himself leading up to their scheduled boxing match.

The former UFC stars will meet for the second time in combat sports, but the rematch will take place in the boxing ring instead of the cage. The 10-round, 175-pound boxing match is set for June 1 at Kia Forum in Inglewood, Calif., and will stream on Fanmio pay-per-view.

Masvidal appears ready to take care of business inside of the ring, but outside, he says Diaz has made things very difficult to make the fight come together due to various terms and conditions.

“He said he wouldn’t fight unless he walked out second, like non-negotiable,” Masvidal told reporters in a scrum. “Like what the f*ck you talking about? Real Fighters Inc., and this the sh*t you’re pulling? … Another thing that he wanted was his name on top, or he wouldn’t fight. So, I’m like, ‘Do you want to fight or what, motherf*cker?’

“You’ve been telling the whole world the same sh*t, because back in the UFC when I was fighting for titles and you were doing f*cking nothing but picking your nose, you didn’t want to scrap after I got done with them title fights, and it was the same diva act. Now, finally, we got the deal done. It took in totality, the deal took about a year. Like five months with the UFC, and another like four with Nate ‘The Diva’ Diaz.”

[lawrence-related id=459392]

Masvidal and Diaz first met at UFC 244 in November 2019 for the inaugural BFM title. “Gamebred” won the fight by TKO after the ringside doctor called a stop to the fight in Round 3 due to a cut above Diaz’s right eye.

While Masvidal isn’t thrilled with having to deal with Diaz’s demands for their second meeting, he hopes his opponent comes to fight in June, and doesn’t pull some of the same antics he did in his boxing debut against Jake Paul last August.

“At least come in there in f*cking shape, man,” Masvidal said. “And at least do your job to everybody watching. Because we’re not watching to watch two guys f*cking fake guillotine and the other guy pointing at him and walking around the ring. People ain’t doing that sh*t and that’s why I think I get so much love because I put everything I got into this craft. When I go out there, I’m going to show Nate why he shouldn’t be smoking so many f*cking blunts.”

The pair have committed to a four-city promotional tour to raise interest in their boxing showdown, which is co-promoted by Diaz’s Real Fight Inc. and Masvidal’s Gamebred Boxing. Masvidal plans to reveal all of the hoops Diaz made him jump through before ultimately “ending” him inside the ring.

“My plan is just to state facts,” Masvidal said. “The moment I sit in that chair, facts that I can prove with contracts and paperwork, and show the whole world if anybody has questions on it why I’m so f*cking upset. Because this fight could have taken place way long ago and Nate Diaz is a f*cking diva.”

Diaz and Masvidal are scheduled for 10-round boxing match June 1 at Kia Forum in Inglewood, Calif. It’ll be a rematch of their inaugural BMF title fight that took place in November 2019 at UFC 244, which Masvidal won by third-round injury stoppage TKO due to a cut above Diaz’s eye.

Diaz, 38, is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Jake Paul in their boxing match last August. It was Diaz’s first competition since he left the UFC after his final promotion appearance, a win over Tony Ferguson, in September 2022 at UFC 279.

Masvidal, 39, hasn’t competed since losing to Gilbert Burns last April at UFC 287, which capped off a four-fight losing streak. Masvidal announced afterward that he was retired from MMA.
