Texas has been riding a wave of momentum on the recruiting trail lately, but they experienced a bump in the road on Wednesday.
Steve Sarkisian and his staff were hopeful to land five-star offensive lineman Devon Campbell during the early signing period this week. However, Campbell announced via Twitter on Wednesday that he will not be committing until February.
Several 247Sports crystal balls were entered in favor of Texas to land Campbell over the last few days, and many believed a commitment would come on Tuesday. It’s unclear what caused the hold up at this point.
Campbell will be signing to his school of choice on Feb. 3.
I will be signing and announcing my decision february 3rd ! #AGTG

If the Longhorns are able to secure Campbell, he would become the highest rated commit in their 2022 recruiting class.
The Bowie High School product is the No. 1 interior offensive lineman in the country for the 2022 cycle, and the No. 3 overall prospect in the state of Texas.
