Red Wings at Blackhawks: Projected starting goalies
Jonathan Bernier (2-0-0, 2.00 GAA, .927 SV%) at Kevin Lankinen (1-0-1, 2.94 GAA, .902 SV%)
G Thomas Greiss was on the short end of Friday’s 4-1 loss at the Blackhawks, allowing three goals on 27 shots, so it’s likely head coach Jeff Blashill goes back to Bernier for Sunday’s afternoon affair. In two starts so far this season, Bernier has wins against the Columbus Blue Jackets and Carolina Hurricanes, turning aside 51 of 55 shots.
Lankinen picked up his first NHL win in Friday’s opening game against the Wings, stopping 30 of 31 shots to earn first star honors. It’s likely he will make a third consecutive start, as the 25-year-old Finnish backstop has given the Blackhawks their best chance to win lately.

Red Wings at Blackhawks: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks
Prediction
Blackhawks 4, Red Wings 2
Money line (ML)
The BLACKHAWKS (-135) looked good Friday against the fellow Original Six Red Wings, and they should be able to get it done on home ice again Sunday afternoon in front of a national audience. I wouldn’t go crazy and bet the kid’s college tuition, but a one-unit bet is certainly in order.
Against the spread (ATS)
The BLACKHAWKS -1.5 (+195) is very tempting, as you can nearly double up. Yes, Chicago has won just one game, but that was against these same Red Wings. Not only did the Blackhawks win, but they covered the puck line, too. Like the money line bet, don’t hit it terribly hard, but a small-unit play is a good idea.
Over/Under (O/U)
I do not like totals of a flat 6, and I think this one comes in right on the nose. AVOID.
If someone put a gun to my head, the lean would be the Under, which is 12-3-6 in the previous 21 head-to-head meetings in the Windy City.
