The Detroit Pistons (2-1) and Oklahoma City Thunder (2-1) meet Monday at Paycom Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Pistons vs. Thunder odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: First meeting; teams split 1-1 last season

The Pistons surprised the Chicago Bulls at Little Caesars Arena on Saturday, winning 118-102 as a 2.5-point underdog. The Pistons have won 2 straight outright, while going 3-0 against the spread (ATS), all as an underdog. The Over (213) on Saturday snapped a modest 2-game Under run to open.

The Thunder saw a 2-game win streak snapped 128-95 in their home opener against the defending champion Denver Nuggets. The Under has cashed in 2 in a row for OKC after an Over in the opener.

Pistons at Thunder picks and predictions

Prediction

Thunder 114, Pistons 110

Moneyline

The Thunder (-225) will cost you more than 2 times your potential return, and that’s quite pricey after Oklahoma City was just thumped by 33 points last time out.

The Pistons (+180) are a bit tempting for a chance to nearly double up, as they have split 2 road games to date.

Still, the best option is to AVOID.

Against the spread

The PISTONS +5.5 (-110) are a decent play catching nearly 3 buckets. Detroit has cashed as an underdog in all 3 games to date.

The Thunder -5.5 (-110) hasn’t been favored this season, and again, they’re coming off a blowout loss last time out.

Over/Under

UNDER 226.5 (-110) is worth playing, but go with a half-unit play at most.

The Under has hit in the past 2 games for the Thunder, averaging just 101.5 PPG during the span. OKC did allow 128 points last time out, however, so be careful.

The Pistons have cashed the Under in 2 of 3 games to date, with both instances coming on the road.

Detroit Pistons at Oklahoma City Thunder odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Detroit Pistons at Oklahoma City Thunder odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Detroit Pistons (16-59) battle the Oklahoma City Thunder (37-39) Wednesday. Tip from Paycom Center is set for 8 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Pistons vs. Thunder odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The Pistons and Thunder have played once this season, a 112-103 win for Detroit at home on Nov. 7, covering as a 2-point underdog while the Under 224 hit.

Detroit has lost 17 of its last 18 games. It is coming off a 126-117 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday, covering as an 11.5-point home underdog. The Pistons are just 2-7 against the spread (ATS) in their last 9 games and are 31-41-3 ATS on the season.

The Thunder are 6-4 straight up in their last 10 games. They are coming off a 137-134 home loss to the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday, failing to cover as a 10-point favorite. OKC is 5-5 ATS over its last 10, but 0-4 ATS in its last 4. It is 43-30-3 ATS on the season.

Pistons at Thunder picks and predictions

Prediction

Thunder 115, Pistons 104

Moneyline

AVOID.

The Pistons don’t seem motivated to win, making their (+450) a long shot. The Thunder aren’t worth 6 times the potential return here either.

Against the spread

LEAN PISTONS +11.5 (-115).

This isn’t a position the Thunder have thrived in this season. They are just 2-2 ATS when double-digit favorites this season.

They have also failed to cover 4 straight, including a home loss to one of the worst teams in the Eastern Conference. OKC has the 12th-best net rating on the season but that drops to 19th after the All-Star break. It hasn’t been playing that well as of late.

Detroit has lost 6 in a row, but it has covered 2 of its last 7 games. It has been a double-digit underdog in its last 6. It ranks 27th in net rating after the All-Star break, so it has been better than its bottom-of-the-East record indicates.

For a small unit, back the PISTONS +11.5 (-115).

Over/Under

BET UNDER 231.5 (-105).

The Thunder may want to run, and they rank 5th in pace, but the problem here is the Pistons offense won’t be able to keep up, ranking 21st in pace and dead last in effective field goal percentage since the All-Star break.

The Pistons have gone Under in 6 of their last 7 games, failing to top 100 in 4 of their last 6. The Thunder have gone Under in 2 of their last 3 and in 6 of their last 10.

Ultimately, given the Pistons’ shortcomings offensively, back the UNDER 231.5 (-105).

Detroit Pistons at Oklahoma City Thunder odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Detroit Pistons at Oklahoma City Thunder and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Detroit Pistons (21-56) drop by Paycom Center Friday to play the Oklahoma City Thunder (22-54) at 8 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Pistons vs. Thunder odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

Detroit snapped a three-game losing skid with a 102-94 upset of the Philadelphia 76ers at home Thursday. The Pistons are just 2-5 straight up (SU) but 5-2 against the spread (ATS) over the past two weeks.

OKC is 2-8 SU but 8-2 ATS in its last 10 games but got crushed at home Wednesday by the Atlanta Hawks 136-118, losing ATS as a 13-point underdog.

The Thunder beat the Pistons 114-103 in Detroit as 3-point underdogs Dec. 6 but OKC’s three-leading scorers in that game will be sidelined for this meeting.

Pistons at Thunder odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Pistons 114, Thunder 104

Money line

PASS with a heavy “lean” towards the Pistons (-210). The Thunder have the second-best ATS win rate in the NBA so they may keep this one close and laying -210 with a 21-win team is lunacy.

PLAY: Free, daily sports pick’em contests. Play now!

Against the spread

BET the PISTONS -4.5 (-122) and all the way up to -5.5 because the Thunder are in tank mode.

All of OKC’s top-five scorers are out for this game and the eye-ball test tells me Detroit is playing hard. The Pistons have a young core with PG Cade Cunningham and SF Saddiq Bey whereas none of the Thunder’s starters are rotation players.

Cunningham played for the Oklahoma State Cowboys in college last season so he’ll most likely have friends and family in the stands. He should be at max motivation to ball out versus OKC.

Finally, according to Tipico, this is a Pros vs. Joe’s game in the betting market with the presumed sharp money on the Pistons while the public is backing the Thunder. Since wiseguys wager more money than your average Joe, the money column is typically the sharp side of the market.

BET the PISTONS -4.5 (-122) for 1 unit.

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 221.5 (-115) because Detroit’s defense is ranked sixth in adjusted efficiency over the past two weeks, according to CleaningTheGlass.com (CTG), and has locked up two potent offenses recently in the Hawks and Sixers.

However, OKC’s defense is ranked 25th in adjusted efficiency in the last 14 days, these teams are a combined 37-29 O/U versus teams with a losing record and I feel stronger about Detroit’s spread.

The Pistons were roughed up by the New York Knicks Saturday, falling 125-81 at Little Caesars Arena. Detroit has also won just once in the previous six games on the road, although they’re 4-1 ATS across the past five away from home.

The Thunder are on a two-game skid, allowing 136.5 PPG, and they have allowed 111 or more points in five of the past six overall. OKC have won five of the past 10 at home while going 5-5 ATS during the span.

Pistons at Thunder: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Pistons 114, Thunder 109

Money line (ML)

The PISTONS (-150) are worth a roll of the dice playing straight up against the Thunder (+125). Detroit was crushed last time out against New York at home, but they should be able to get on track against a very banged up OKC side.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

The PISTONS -3 (-110) are favored, and that’s obviously very rare for a 14-35 team, especially on the road. But the Thunder +3 (-110) have a lengthy injury list, and they’re not playing very well. Detroit won its most recent game as a favorite April 1 topping Washington 120-91.

The Thunder were creamed 133-85 by the Trail Blazers in Portland Saturday, and they are 1-5 SU/ATS across the past six outings.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 213.5 (-110) is the play there, as neither of these teams are playing very good defense lately. OKC has allowed 127 or more points in three of its past four outings, including 273 total points in the previous two.
