The Detroit Pistons (8-11) and Memphis Grizzlies (11-7) meet Wednesday at the FedExForum. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NBA odds around the Pistons vs. Grizzlies odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: First meeting; Memphis won 3-0 last season

The Pistons ended their 3-game skid on Monday with a thrilling 102-100 win over the Toronto Raptors, but failed to cover as 5-point home favorites as the Under 221.5 hit. G Jaden Ivey led the way with 25 points including the game-winning jumper at the buzzer. Detroit overcame a 50-38 rebounding deficit and 14 turnovers to secure the victory.

The Grizzlies extended their win streak to 3 games with a dominant 123-98 win Monday over the Portland Trail Blazers, covering as 10.5-point home favorites as the Under 231.5 cashed. Memphis controlled the boards, outrebounding Portland 60-44, but committed 19 turnovers. G Ja Morant paced the team with a double-double, recording 22 points and 11 assists.

Pistons at Grizzlies picks and predictions

Prediction

Grizzlies 122, Pistons 110

Moneyline

PASS.

The Grizzlies (-375) will win this game comfortably on Wednesday which is why I’m going to take my bet to the spread.

Against the spread

BET GRIZZLIES -8.5 (-110).

The Grizzlies crushed the Trail Blazers on Monday and have dominated the Pistons with 7 straight wins and covers. Memphis is red-hot, covering the spread in 9 of its last 10 games, while Detroit has failed to cover in 4 straight. Morant looked sharp despite limited minutes.

Meanwhile, the Pistons face issues at point guard, ranking 24th in turnovers per game, and Cade Cunningham is doubtful to play. Even if he suits up, his impact will likely be limited. Back the Grizzlies to cover again.

Over/Under

BET OVER 227.5 (-110).

Memphis, ranked 3rd in pace of play, should keep this game fast-paced against Detroit. The Pistons have hit the Over in 2 of their last 3 games, while the Grizzlies have gone Over in 7 of their last 10.

Memphis C Jaren Jackson Jr. continues to shine, posting 20+ points in 3 straight games and 11 times in 16 games. Averaging 22.8 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks while shooting 53.1%, Jackson dominates on both ends. Detroit, likely without Cade Cunningham, will struggle to keep up. Expect Jackson and F Brandon Clarke to control the paint as Memphis piles on the points.

Detroit Pistons at Memphis Grizzlies odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s Detroit Pistons at Memphis Grizzlies odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Detroit Pistons (7-29) travel to FedExForum to take on the Memphis Grizzlies (25-14). Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Pistons vs. Grizzlies odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Grizzlies come into this game off a 4-point victory as road underdogs in Cleveland. Memphis is the league’s fourth-best covering team at 24-15 ATS.

The Grizzlies are one of the hottest teams in the NBA as winners of six straight games. While short-handed, Memphis has a 10.3 average margin of victory. They’ll get a Pistons team at home without their best player.

The Pistons have won two of their last three games, taking down the Milwaukee Bucks and the San Antonio Spurs behind huge performances from G Hamidou Diallo, although they gave up 140 and lost by 29 points at the Charlotte Hornets Wednesday.

Detroit is 17-19 ATS this season.

Pistons at Grizzlies odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Grizzlies 118, Pistons 103

Money line

PASS on the money line. I like the surging Grizzlies but their -1000 line doesn’t have any value. Similarly, there is little value with the Pistons (+600) as they are one of the least efficient teams in the league.

Against the spread

BET on the GRIZZLIES -12.5 (-112).

Memphis has been absolutely rocking lately. The Grizzlies have the fifth-best offensive rating and 15th-best defensive rating and are one of only a handful of teams that are top 15 on both sides of the court.

The Pistons have the third-worst turnover rate and second-worst true shooting percentage. They’re young and inefficient. The key difference will be in the rebounding.

The Griz rank first in offensive rebounding while the Pistons rank 20th in defensive rebounding. Memphis should eat Detroit alive on the boards, and those extra opportunities should help them build and keep a lead.

Expect a big-time win from Memphis. It’s covered all six spreads on its current six-game win streak.

Over/Under

BET on the OVER 217.5 (-115).

Detroit actually hits overs at the seventh-highest rate in the league at 19-17 O/U. The Pistons are inexperienced but they do have some talented scorers and put up 111 against Charlotte Wednesday.

The Grizzlies defense also isn’t great at limiting opponents as evidenced by the 17th-best opponents’ field goal percentage. However, they do force turnovers at the fifth-highest rate in the NBA.

Against a turnover-prone team, the Grizzlies should be able to push the pace and dominate the glass. There’s no reason the Over shouldn’t hit if those factors come to life.

Lastly, both teams rank in the top half of the league in pace.

Pistons at Grizzlies: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Grizzlies 116, Pistons 107

Money line (ML)

The GRIZZLIES (-200) are moderate favorites over the Pistons Friday night. It’s a little surprising that the Grizzlies are that favored, however, as they have won just three of their last nine games. But that says more about the Pistons, who will be without PF Blake Griffen again as they search for a possible trade for the former All-Star forward. Memphis should win this game and should do so fairly easily. Even though the odds aren’t great, ride with the Grizzlies in this game.

Against the spread (ATS)

The GRIZZLIES (-5) are the smart play on the spread as well despite going just 3-6 ATS in their last nine games. With this line only being five points, the margin of victory should be more than that if the Grizzlies win this game. It is worth noting that the Pistons are 4-1-1 against the spread in their last five games. But without Griffen and potentially other key contributors, this one could get ugly quickly.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 221.5 (-110) is the right play in this game despite both offenses being less-than-stellar this season. What’s more noteworthy is how poor each side is on the defensive end of the court, allowing over 112 points per game. While we could see some ugly shooting, look for the OVER to ultimately hit as the Grizzlies should score into the 110s in this game. The over has hit in five-straight games for Memphis. Look for that to happen again in this game with two bad defenses on the court.
