Michigan State football has reportedly locked in a visit from one of the top in-state prospects in the 2025 class.

Desmond Straughton of Roseville, Mich. will reportedly take a visit to Michigan State on April 6. Corey Robinson of 247Sports reported the recruiting news on Saturday.

Straughton is a three-star athlete in the 2025 class. He ranks as the No. 16 athlete and No. 5 player from Michigan in 247Sports’ rankings for the 2025 class.

Michigan State is one of more than 20 programs to extend Straughton an offer, according to 247Sports. Straughton is currently crystal ball projected to pick the Spartans over offers from other notable programs such as Arizona State, Cincinnati, Duke, Indiana, Kentucky, Minnesota, Purdue and West Virginia.

Michigan State football has extended a scholarship offer to an in-state athlete prospect in the 2025 class.

Desmond Straughton of Roseville, Mich. announced on Thursday that he’s received an offer from the Spartans. He plays for Roseville High and is listed at 5-foot-11 and 175 pounds.

Straughton is yet to be ranked on 247Sports, but has already picked up interest from numerous big-time schools. He holds scholarship offers from 10 programs, including Indiana, Kentucky and West Virginia, according to 247Sports.
