NFL Network to air ‘America’s Game: The 2015 Denver Broncos’ tonight

Set your DVR: NFL Network will air ‘America’s Game: The 2015 Denver Broncos’ tonight 📺🏈🏆

Former Denver Broncos linebacker DeMarcus Ware was announced as a member of the 2023 Pro Football Hall of Fame class last week. Ware made his name as a member of the Dallas Cowboys but cemented his legacy by winning a Super Bowl in 2015 with the Broncos. NFL Network will show the 2015 Denver Broncos “America’s Game” episode to honor Ware on Friday evening.

Ware capped his 12-season NFL career with 138.5 sacks, including 27.5 in his four seasons in Denver. In 2015, Ware racked up 25 tackles, adding 7.5 sacks in 11 games. He also compiled five tackles and two sacks in Super Bowl 50 against the Carolina Panthers.

Ware helped make the 2015 Broncos memorable for many reasons. Outside of it being fellow Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning’s swan song season, Ware was a part of the “No Fly Zone” defense that has since been immortalized as one of the NFL’s most excellent defenses of all time. The defense ranked No. 1 in total defense, pass defense, and sacks during the season.

Check out Ware and other team members discussing their Super Bowl run tonight on NFL Network at 11:00 p.m. ET.

Greg Penner comments on DeMarcus Ware reaching Hall of Fame

“DeMarcus [Ware] became a Super Bowl champion as a Bronco, cementing his legacy as one of the greatest pass rushers in NFL history.”

DeMarcus Ware was named a member of the 2023 Pro Football Hall of Fame class on Thursday evening. Although Ware spent the majority of his career with the Dallas Cowboys, he finished his career with the Denver Broncos and was a key member of the team’s dominant defense that led the club to a victory in Super Bowl 50 following the 2015 season.

After the Hall of Fame class was announced, Broncos owner/CEO Greg Penner released the following statement:

On behalf of the Denver Broncos, we congratulate DeMarcus Ware on his well-deserved election to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. DeMarcus became a Super Bowl champion as a Bronco, cementing his legacy as one of the greatest pass rushers in NFL history on one of the greatest defenses of all-time.

His leadership, professionalism and many clutch performances are fondly remembered throughout our organization. We join Broncos Country in celebrating DeMarcus as a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2023.

Ware will be enshrined in the Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio this summer.

Will DeMarcus Ware go into the Hall of Fame as a Cowboy or Bronco?

DeMarcus Ware won’t have to choose between the Cowboys or Broncos in the Hall of Fame. Ware will represent both franchises in Canton.

DeMarcus Ware was announced as a member of the 2023 Pro Football Hall of Fame class during NFL Honors on Thursday evening.

Ware spent the majority of his career — nine seasons — with the Dallas Cowboys, totaling a franchise-record 117 sacks while earning seven All-Pro selections and seven Pro Bowl nods playing for Jerry Jones. He was also named to the NFL’s 2000s All-Decade Team for his time in Dallas.

Ware finished his career with the Denver Broncos, though. Ware only played three years in Denver, but they were three impactful seasons. The pass rusher earned two more Pro Bowl selections and was a key member of a Broncos defense that dominated the 2015 season and led the team to a 24-10 win over the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50.

Ware played a key role in Denver’s Super Bowl win, recording four quarterback hits and two sacks. The resulting Super Bowl ring is a huge part of his Hall of Fame resume.

So, will Ware go into the Hall of Fame as a Cowboy or a Bronco?

Both!

NFL players don’t have to choose a specific team they played for when they enter the Hall of Fame. Much like quarterback Peyton Manning, who represents both the Indianapolis Colts and Broncos, Ware can represent both Dallas and Denver in Canton, Ohio.

Ware is a Hall of Famer, both for the Cowboys and the Broncos.

WATCH: Highlights from DeMarcus Ware’s time with Broncos

Sure, DeMarcus Ware spent most of his career with the Cowboys, but he didn’t win a Super Bowl ring until he joined the Broncos.

DeMarcus Ware has been named a member of the 2022 Pro Football Hall of Fame class, the NFL announced Thursday evening.

Ware spent the majority of his career with the Dallas Cowboys, but he had a memorable three-year run with the Broncos that included 21.5 sacks and a victory in Super Bowl 50. Ware probably would have reached the Hall of Fame even without an NFL title, but winning a Super Bowl with Denver certainly improved his resume.

Highlights from Ware’s time with the Broncos can be seen in the above video. You can check out more highlights on YouTube.

Cowboys great DeMarcus Ware makes Pro Football Hall of Fame

Ware joins an impressive Class of 2023 that also includes onetime Cowboy LB Zach Thomas and “Doomsday” standout Chuck Howley. | From @ToddBrock24f7

It took him an extra year to get there, but DeMarcus Ware is on his way to Canton.

The Cowboys legend and all-time sack leader was announced as a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Class of 2023 during NFL Honors on Thursday night.

Ware was called to the stage by Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.

The 13-year veteran was also a finalist for the Hall in 2022, his first year of eligibility. Over nine seasons in Dallas, he made seven straight Pro Bowl appearances and earned four first-team All-Pro nods. He went on to play four more years and earn a Super Bowl ring with Denver.

Linebacker Zach Thomas, who spent one season as a Cowboy after a long career with the Dolphins, was also welcomed to Canton as part of the Class of 2023.

The Cowboys’ “Doomsday” defense standout Chuck Howley, the only man to be named a Super Bowl MVP while playing for the losing team, enters the Hall in the Senior Category.

Joe Thomas, Darrelle Revis, Ken Riley, Joe Klecko, Ronde Barber, and Don Coryell round out the Class of 2023.

Cowboys safety Darren Woodson, a three-time Super Bowl champ as a member of the dynasty teams of the 1990s, was also a finalist for the first time after six times as a semifinalist. His wait for Canton continues.

DeMarcus Ware shares how Dallas can beat the Bucs (and if they will)

Cowboys legend DeMarcus Ware admitted in an interview to Sports Seriously that players feel organizational pressure too.

Gameday is finally here and for many Cowboys fans they’re bracing for yet another playoff heartbreak. And they have every reason to be, given six of their last seven playoff exits have come down to falling short on the final drive of the game.

On top of that, it’s been over 27 years since Dallas has even reached the NFC conference title game.

You can feel the pressure reaching a fever pitch for Cowboys Nation.

Cowboys legend DeMarcus Ware admitted in an interview to Sports Seriously that players feel that pressure too.

“Yes, It was a lot more pressure with the Cowboys owning that star. This is probably the number one team in sports,” said Ware to Sports Seriously. “So when they go somewhere, it’s like bringing the Super Bowl to your town and you gotta own that.”

Pressure aside, Ware believes Dallas should have confidence going into their game against a less than stellar 8-9 Bucs team and believes one matchup will dictate who wins the game:

“The Cowboys will win if they control the front seven, meaning the trenches, they’ll win this football game because Zeke will get the touches, Pollard will get the touches and the defensive line gets that pressure that’s needed to slow down Brady. So controlling the trenches hands down.”

Does he think that will actually happen?

“I would say the Cowboys win. I think they’re just tired of hearing that ‘oh, you going to play Brady?’ I think that’s just gas on the fire and they’ll be able to close this game out and go down there and get a win.”
