Alabama’s coaching staff has a history of landing some of the top recruits from the Lonestar state over the years. On Wednesday, the Tide landed a signature from 2023 four-star defensive lineman Jordan Renaud.

Renaud is ranked as the No. 62 overall recruit in the country, according to 247Sports’ Composite Rankings. He is listed as 6-foot-3.5-inches and 245 pounds.

His ability to play along the interior or as an edge rusher makes him very valuable to Alabama’s defensive scheme. Renaud’s versatility could give him a good opportunity to make an impact in some capacity as a true freshman.

2024 Texas A&M commit Dealyn Evans receives offer from Alabama

Alabama’s coaching staff has not been shy to extend offers to prospects committed to other schools. They recently offered Texas A&M commit and 2024 DL Dealyn Evans.

Over the years, Alabama has been able to flip prospects that have been committed to various different programs around the SEC. That appears to be what the coaching staff will try to do with 2024 Texas A&M commit Dealyn Evans recently receiving an offer from the Tide.

The Texas native has been committed to the Aggies since July 31. However, he hasn’t entered his senior year of high school. There is time for the Alabama coaching staff to make a push to flip his commitment.

The Tide have had success recruiting the state of Texas in recent years. We will see if that continues into the 2024 recruiting class with a prospect like Evans.

Alabama’s coaching staff has hit the recruiting trail as of late. They recently offered 2024 IMG Academy defensive tackle, David Stone.

Alabama’s coaching staff has done a good job of recruiting prospects from IMG Academy in the past. Hopefully, that trend will continue for years to come as the program consistently develops Power Five caliber players. On Tuesday, 2024 defensive lineman David Stone received an offer from the Tide.

The native of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma is currently favored to land with the Sooners. However, he will likely receive even more interest heading into his senior season which could make things interesting. Alabama has several former IMG players (JC Latham and Tyler Booker) that could throw in a recruiting pitch if Stone decides to take a visit to Tuscaloosa.

“Bama is my dream school,” Hall said. “It has always been a dream of mine to be there and play at Bryant Denny. The love Bama has shown me over the past few months has grown tremendously, and coach Saban and the rest of the staff want me there. They made that very clear on my official visit.”

It appears as if there is mutual interest between the two. Hall plans to take an official visit to Ohio State on November 25. As of right now, Georgia hold the lead at 87.5% likelihood, according to On3’s RPM.

Several other programs like Georgia Tech, Miami, Oklahoma, Michigan, and UCF have offered as well. Crawford still has several years to bring in offers, but Alabama is likely in good standing with the defensive lineman.

Alabama lands commitment from elite Texas DL prospect Jordan Renaud

Alabama added a big-time player to the 2023 class in DL Jordan Renaud, who announced his commitment to the Tide.

The Alabama coaching staff has been hot on the recruiting trail. Their success continued on Monday morning as 2023 defensive lineman Jordan Renaud announced his commitment to the Tide. The Texas native ultimately chose Alabama over Oklahoma.

Renaud plays for Tyler Legacy High School in Tyler, Texas. He is listed at 6-foot-3.5 inches, according to 247Sports. The expectation is that Renaud will likely play as an edge rusher when he arrives in Tuscaloosa. However, he could still add some weight in the off-season and transition to an interior defensive lineman.

Alabama has already landed commitments from three defensive linemen in Yhonzae Pierre, Edric Hill and Hunter Osborne. It is also worth noting that their total could increase in the coming months as they are still pursuing Florida commit Kelby Collins and Clemson commit Peter Woods. Other prospects to keep a close eye on are James Smith, Qua Russaw, Daevin Hobbs, and Rueben Bain.

Former Alabama DL Da’Shawn Hand placed on Titans injured reserve

Former Alabama DL Da’Shawn Hand was placed on the Titans injured reserve. He signed with the orginzation during the offseason.

Former Alabama defensive lineman Da’Shawn Hand was placed on the Titans’ injured reserve on Tuesday. According to NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero, Hand suffered a torn quad in Sunday’s opener against the New York Giants. He is expected to miss the rest of the season.

Hand spent four seasons in Tuscaloosa playing defensive end and defensive tackle. He was rated as the No. 5 overall recruit in the nation, according to 247Sports’ recruiting rankings. The hype was certainly there as he made his arrival on campus in 2014.

Hand went on to record 64 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss and eight sacks during his career at Alabama. As a senior, he would receive Second-Team All-SEC from coaches around the conference. After his senior season, he was drafted by the Detroit Lions in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

He spent four seasons with the Lions before being released in 2021. He would then sign with the Indianapolis Colts practice squad. After spending ten days with the team, he was released by the Colts. In January, he was signed to the Tennessee Titans practice squad.

Unfortunately, he will have to wait a year in all likelihood before he records his first tackle with his new team. We certainly wish Hand a quick and smooth recovery moving forward.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow Hand’s injury status as well as other former Alabama players in the NFL.
