Former LSU linebacker Christian Brathwaite finds new home in the transfer portal

Christian Brathwaite is heading to Houston after one season at LSU.

A redshirt freshman linebacker from LSU has announced his new destination after entering the transfer portal. [autotag]Christian Brathwaite[/autotag] will be continuing his college football career at Houston.

Brathwaite is a 6-foot-1, 218-pound linebacker who was a former four-star recruit out of Cypress, Texas. Last season, Brathwaite played in five games for the Tigers and made three tackles. Two of them came against Auburn and one came against Missouri.

Now that he is heading to Houston, he is headed back closer to home.

The Tigers have a new defensive coordinator in Blake Baker and they still have a very talented linebacker room. [autotag]Harold Perkins Jr.[/autotag], [autotag]Greg Penn III[/autotag], West and Whit Weeks, [autotag]Davhon Keys[/autotag], [autotag]Matt Jayne[/autotag], [autotag]Tylen Singleton[/autotag], and [autotag]Xavier Atkins[/autotag] make up a solid linebacker room that can get the job done on any given Saturday.

Another 2024 LSU commit wins MVP in state title game

Dahvon Keys knows a thing or two about winning football games, and he plans to continue that at LSU.

It has been a huge week for LSU commit [autotag]Davhon Keys[/autotag].

Keys helped lead the Aledo Bearcats to back-to-back state championships with a 51-8 win over Smithson Valley in the 5A D1 state championship game in Texas. Keys won the award for MVP of the game as he finished the game with 12 tackles, two tackles for loss, and one sack.

Keys made another commitment on December 16th as he announced that he would be playing in the All-American Bowl on NBC. After the game, Keys was asked about his thoughts on LSU as he gets ready to sign with the Tigers in a few days, and here is what he had to say.

“I’m extremely excited and ready to go, ready to go win the natty,” he said, per On3. “I’m excited and fortunate to be blessed to be in this situation. It’s been a long journey and I’ve had a bunch of great support along with me, some great teammates, coaches, family with me that I’m gonna go represent at LSU.”

Tigers offer 2024 linebacker from the Lone Star State

Dahvon Keys is a three-star recruit, but he’s recently picked up some big-time offers.

[autotag]Davhon Keys[/autotag] is a 6-foot, 200-pound linebacker from Aledo, Texas where he plays for Aledo High School. The Bearcats finished the season 12-1 with a loss to the eventual UIL 5A D2 state champion, South Oak Cliff. Keys had 68 total tackles and eight tackles for loss.

Film Analysis: Keys is a talented athlete that has really good instincts on both sides of the ball. He is profiled as a linebacker at the next level, but he has the skill set to play on either side of the ball. He is very good in pass coverage, especially as a linebacker. He would be a nice recruit to have for the 2024 recruiting class.
