Michigan State football transfer Dashaun Mallory chooses Arizona State

Dashaun Mallory is headed to the West Coast:

Dashaun Mallory made the decision to enter the NCAA transfer portal following the 2022 campaign. Mallory spent the past 5 seasons in East Lansing, originally coming as a member of the 2018 recruiting class. In his time with the program, Mallory played in 19 games, recording 43 tackles, 5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks.

Following his recruitment in the transfer portal, Mallory has committed to Arizona State. Mallory is the first Spartan transfer to commit to a power five school.

A pair of Michigan State defensive linemen have entered the transfer portal.

Jalen Hunt and Dashaun Mallory have both entered the transfer portal and intend to leave Michigan State. The news came out around 9 a.m. ET on Monday, with Matt Wenzel of MLive reporting that Michigan State confirmed the news.

Mallory appeared in eight games this year for the Spartans, recording 16 tackles, 0.5 sacks and two fumbles recovered. He recorded 43 total tackles and 2.5 sacks in his 19 career games as a Spartan.

Mallory was a three-star prospect in the 2018 class out of Bolingbrook, Ill.

Hunt was a three-star prospect in the 2019 class out of Belleville, Mich. He appeared in seven games this year and recorded nine tackles. In his career at Michigan State, he finished with 17 tackles and two sacks across 14 games.
