2025 4-star TE DaSaahn Brame sets commitment date

Oklahoma target DaSaahn Brame sets commitment date.

[autotag]Joe Jon Finley[/autotag] has had an interesting first half of 2024. He went from solely being the tight ends coach at Oklahoma to being named to co-offensive coordinator this winter. He will be heavily invested in game planning and play design as the Sooners prepare for 2024, with [autotag]Seth Littrell[/autotag] as the play-caller.

He is still in charge of recruiting for his position, and right now, the Sooners don’t currently have a true official tight end committed on campus. There’s a lot of belief that [autotag]Trynae Washington[/autotag] is set to be a tight end in college, and if so, that adds depth to the room for next year.

Oklahoma is currently in the final four for four-star tight end prospect [autotag]DaSaahn Brame[/autotag]. Brame is closing in on bringing his recruitment to an end on June 29. He is set to announce between Oklahoma, Tennessee, Oregon, and Ole Miss.

Oklahoma has been in on Brame for about two years, but with commitment day closing in, the Sooners may be on the outside looking in. Oregon has been one constant in his recruitment for quite some time, and the predictions and projections favor the Ducks.

Brame is a massive prospect, standing at 6-foot-6, and he is a natural catcher with plenty of noticeable athleticism. When watching his film, it’s easy to see why he’s a four-star prospect coveted by many Power 4 schools.

Sooners inside the top 6 for 2025 four-star TE Da’Saahn Brame

Oklahoma was included alongside Alabama, LSU, Ole Miss, Oregon, and Tennessee for 2025 four-star tight end prospect Da’Saahn Brame.

The Oklahoma Sooners are hoping to go back-to-back recruiting classes with a blue-chip tight end after depth and production became an issue in 2023.

The Sooners have been heavily involved in the recruitment of four-star prospect [autotag]Nate Roberts[/autotag], but are also in the mix for another four-star prospect from the region, Kansas native [autotag]Da’Saahn Brame[/autotag].

Brame is considered the No. 3 tight end in the [autotag]2025 recruiting class[/autotag] and hails from Derby, Kansas. On Wednesday, he dropped his top six schools at this point in his recruitment, and the Sooners were included. Oklahoma is joined by Oregon, Ole Miss, Alabama, Tennessee, and LSU. It’s a star-studded group of programs that have been recruiting really well in recent years but the Sooners are no stranger to big-time recruiting battles.

At 6-foot-4 and 225 pounds, Brame has a fantastic frame to build upon at the collegiate level and he knows how to use his size to make plays in the passing game. He regularly displays incredible athleticism, showing off an ability to get above the rim to high point the football, but also has really good lateral agility to work out routes and make players miss after the catch. His straight-line speed also jumps off the tape.

It’s easy to see why he’s caught the eye of 32 Power Four programs across the country.

Oklahoma Sooners favored to land 2025 four-star tight end

OUInsider’s Parker Thune issued a Rivals FutureCast favoring the Oklahoma Sooners for 2025 four-star Tight End DaSaahn Brame.

Sooners under the Stars” has wrapped as we get ready for the “Party at the Palace” to begin. One of the visitors at the first event of the week was four-star tight end, DaSaahn Brame.

The Derby, Kan. native is a big target standing at 6-foot-6 and 225 pounds. He ranks as a composite top 250 guy and ninth overall at his position. After Davon Mitchell reclassified to the 2024 class, it looks like the Sooners are all in on their 2025 guy.

On Thursday, OUInsider’s Parker Thune put in a prediction favoring the Sooners in Brame’s recruitment.

The Sooners continue to work towards a stacked tight end room. If Joe JoneFinley can pull in the commitment of the blue chip tight end out of Kansas, it would mark the fourth four-star player at the position to join the Sooners since 2022.

It would not come as a surprise if the Sooners didn’t have six or seven commitments in the 2025 class before the 2024 class has officially signed.

Right now, it looks like the Sooners will be battling with the in-state Kansas State Wildcats for Brame’s commitment.

Brame comes from an athletic background and is a Kansas State legacy. His dad, Da’Von, played linebacker at Kansas State, and his mom, Nicky, played women’s basketball for the Wildcats as well.

Brame displays the ability to be a threat as both a receiver and as a blocker, holding up well in the running game. In the modern era of college football, tight ends aren’t often called upon to block as much. Brame is an impact player in every facet of the game.

In Jeff Lebby’s system, it’s important for the tight end to contribute in both the running game and the passing game. With his size and athletic ability, he’ll be an impact player at the collegiate level.
