Titans injury report: Nick Westbrook-Ikhine out, Colton Dowell limited

The Tennessee Titans returned to practice on Wednesday and multiple starters including Nick Westrook-Ikhine on the sidelines.

The Tennessee Titans were back on the practice field Wednesday, ramping up preparations for their Week 16 tussle with the Indianapolis Colts and watched numerous players sit out due to injury.

As expected, Luke Gifford did not practice and remains in concussion protocol. The same could be said for the other players Brian Callahan mentioned during his press availability: Kenneth Murray, T’Vondre Sweat and Tony Pollard.

Not mentioned during his session were kicker Nick Folk (abdomen), defensive back Daryl Worley (calf) and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine (ankle). Unlike the other players that were held out for injury or rest, these three were not mentioned at all and are new.

In all, 10 players sat out practice Wednesday afternoon. There was some positive news as linebacker Jerome Baker, who missed Week 15 with a neck injury, practiced and was not listed on the injury report.

Wide receiver Colton Dowell had his 21-day practice window opened and returned to practice for the first time since tearing his ACL in December 2023 and was limited.

The Titans’ complete injury report for Wednesday can be found below.

Did not participate: DT Jeffery Simmons (NIR/rest), LB Kenneth Murray (hamstring), DT T’Vondre Sweat (shoulder), WR Tyler Boyd (foot), K Nick Folk (abdomen), RB Tony Pollard (ankle),  LB Luke Gifford (concussion), LB Otis Reese (ankle), DB Daryl Worley (calf), Nick Westbrook-Ikhine (ankle)

Titans make addition to 53-man roster ahead of Week 13

The Tennessee Titans made a small roster move on Friday, signing veteran cornerback Daryl Worley to the active 53-man roster.

The Tennessee Titans filled one of their open spots on the 53-man roster on Friday by signing cornerback Daryl Worley.

Signed to the practice squad a month ago, Worley is out of practice squad elevations and would be ineligible to suit up for the Titans unless he is added to the active roster.

The Titans elevated Worley for the past three games, with the veteran starting Week 12 at safety in place of Amani Hooker, who was out with an illness. This season, Worley has been credited with five tackles and one pass defensed.

Originally a third-round selection by the Carolina Panthers in the 2016 NFL draft, the veteran has appeared in 90 games with seven different teams during his career. A versatile defensive back, he has recorded 284 tackles, two sacks, five interceptions, 11 tackles for loss, one fumble recovery, 40 passes defensed and eight special teams tackles since entering the league.

The Titans will travel to Landover, MD., to take on the Washington Commanders in Week 13 action.

Titans elevate Daryl Worley for Week 12 AFC South battle

The Tennessee Titans officially placed Jack Gibbens and L’Jarius Sneed on injured reserve and elevated Daryl Worley for Week 12.

The Tennessee Titans have finished up their preparations and are off to Houston to take on the Houston Texans.

In some final moves before the Week 12 AFC South battle, the Titans made a few roster moves that had been previously announced. The team officially placed linebacker Jack Gibbens (ankle) and cornerback L’Jarius Sneed (quad) on injured reserve. Both players will now miss at least the next four weeks, with Gibbens likely to miss the remainder of the season.

Tennessee also elevated veteran cornerback Daryl Worley from the practice squad for the game. This standard elevation is the third for Worley making him ineligible in the future unless the team signs him to the active 53-man roster.

The Titans now have two open roster spots after moving Gibbens and Sneed to injured reserve, leaving room to sign Worley if that is the direction the front office chooses to follow. Fellow cornerback Chidobe Awuzie could also be making his way back to action and a roster spot would be needed to activate him from injured reserve.

The Titans and Texans kick-off at 1pm EDT on Sunday at NRG Stadium.

Titans sign Cory Levin, elevate two from practice squad for Week 11

The Tennessee Titans signed Cory Levin and elevated two players from the practice squad ahead of Sunday’s matchup against the Vikings.

The Tennessee Titans will take on the Minnesota Vikings in Week 11 action on Sunday and dipped into their practice squad for reinforcements on Saturday.

First they signed offensive lineman Corey Levin from the practice squad to the active roster to fill the vacancy left when safety Mike Edwards was waived. The veteran offensive lineman has been elevated from the unit twice and will add some experienced depth on the interior in the wake of the season ending injury to center Lloyd Cushenberry.

The team also used standard elevations to make tackle Isaiah Prince and defensive back Daryl Worley available this week. Worley will add some depth to both the secondary and special teams with L’Jarius Sneed out and Justin Hardee questionable, and Prince will provide an experienced tackle behind Nicholas Petit-Frere with Leroy Watson out.

This is the second elevation for Worley and the first for Prince in 2024. The Titans can only elevate Worley one more time before they would need to sign him to the active roster.

The Titans and Vikings will take the field Sunday at Nissan Stadium in Nashville.

Titans elevate Daryl Worley, Corey Levin from practice squad

The Tennessee Titans dipped into their practice squad for some reinforcements for their Week 10 battle with the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Tennessee Titans will take on the Los Angeles Chargers Sunday in Week 10 action. The 2-6 Titans are coming off an overtime victory over the New England Patriots, but that win came at a huge cost. Tennessee lost starting center Lloyd Cushenberry and safety Quandre Diggs for the season to injury.

With cornerback L’Jarius Sneed out again with a quad injury and guard Dillon Radunz questionable with a toe injury, the Titans were in need of some depth. On Saturday, they dipped into their practice squad for some help. The Titans are elevating offensive lineman Corey Levin and recently signed defensive back Daryl Worley from the practice squad for the contest.

Levin was activated in Week 9 and thrust into action when Cushenberry went down. He will likely start this week at center if Radunz can’t go with his injured toe. If Radunz is available, center Daniel Brunskill will start in the pivot and Levin will be the top reserve.

Worley will add some depth for the Titans with his first elevation of the season. The veteran defensive back has experience and could be a solid acquisition at the midway point of the season.

Titans add four to the practice squad

The Tennessee Titans were quiet at the trade deadline, but that didn’t stop them from adding some bodies to the practice squad.

To the surprise of many observers, the Tennessee Titans didn’t make any more moves at the trade deadline. It’s an interesting development after they appeared to be starting a fire sale just two weeks ago.

While no trades were made, the team was active, making a few minor transactions on the day. The Titans added tight end Thomas Odukoya, defensive back Gervarrius Owens, defensive back Daryl Worley and guard Cole Spencer to the practice squad.

It’s no secret that the Titans are banged up, especially in the secondary and offensive line. Starting cornerback L’Jarius Sneed has missed the past three games and they lost starting safety Quandre Diggs for the season against the New England Patriots. Along the offensive line, the team has lost backup Andrew Rupcich and starter Lloyd Cushenberry in consecutive weeks to injured reserve and saw starting guard Dillon Radunz miss the last game due to injury.

While Odukoya and Spencer are familiar faces, the additions of Owens and Worley are new. Owens was originally a seventh-round draft pick by the New York Giants in the 2023 NFL draft. In his career, he has seen action in three games, recording one tackle and one fumble recovery. He was released from the Giants’ practice squad in October.

Worley is well-traveled and at age 29 will add some experience to the secondary. A third-round selection in 2016 by the Carolina Panthers, the Titans will be the 10th team he has played for during his NFL career.

The Titans will likely have multiple roster moves in the coming days when they place Cushenberry and Diggs on injured reserve. The team will return to practice on Wednesday to start preparing for their Week 10 battle with the Los Angeles Chargers.

Ravens HC John Harbaugh discusses importance of re-signing DB Daryl Worley

Ravens HC John Harbaugh discussed the importance of brining back defensive back Daryl Worley

The Baltimore Ravens signed defensive back Daryl Worley as a free agent to their practice squad late in the 2021 season. Since then, he’s found a home with the team, playing multiple roles while maneuvering around the roster one way or another.

Baltimore recently re-signed Worley to a one-year deal for the 2024 season, cementing that the defensive back will be a part of the team for at least part of one more season. Head coach John Harbaugh was asked about Worley and said the veteran is a big part of the team and what they do.

“Daryl Worley; veteran player. [He’s] been here a long time. He’s been a big part of the Ravens here since he got here. [He’s] a physical presence in the back end, [he’s] a physical presence on special teams. [He’s] healthy now. He got the tear that he had in the [pectoral muscle] healed, and he was excited to get back. We’re excited to have him back.”

Worley has experience at cornerback and safety, but he has recently taken up more safety as his career continues. He is also willing to contribute to special teams when needed, which the Ravens value immensely.

Ravens waive DB Tre Swilling after signing Daryl Worley

Baltimore Ravens waive defensive back Tre Swilling after signing Daryl Worley

The Baltimore Ravens announced another roster move, waiving defensive back Tre Swilling after the team signed Daryl Worley to a one-year deal.

Swilling and Jordan Toles have been waived on consecutive days as Baltimore works to shore up the secondary while adding depth on special teams.

Swilling is the son of former NFL linebacker Pat Swilling, who is in the College Football Hall of Fame (Georgia Tech), was the 1991 NFL Defensive Player of the Year with the New Orleans Saints and was a five-time Pro Bowler over his 12-year career.

Tre Swilling went undrafted out of Georgia Tech in 2022 and signed with the Tennessee Titans before spending time on the practice squads of the New Orleans Saints and San Francisco 49ers, respectively. He made the 49ers’ practice squad last summer and was elevated to the active roster for two games last season before joining the Ravens practice squad.

Ravens sign DB Daryl Worley to 1-year deal

The Baltimore Ravens are signing veteran defensive back Daryl Worley to a one-year deal

The Ravens have added another defensive back to the roster, inking Daryl Worley to a one-year deal just moments before training camp practice No. 2.

Baltimore agreed to a one-year contract with former Bears star safety Eddie Jackson on Saturday.

Worley will fit more of a special teams role after playing for the Ravens the past two-plus seasons. He suited up for 12 games last year and made 12 tackles.

Baltimore is now loaded at the safety position with Marcus Williams and Kyle Hamilton as the starters, followed by Jackson, Ar’Darius Washington, and rookies Sanoussi Kane and Beau Brade.
