Alabama MBB offers 2025 5-star PG Darius Acuff Jr.

2025 point guard Darius Acuff Jr. received an offer from Alabama on Thursday. Acuff is a five-star prospect out of Detroit, Michigan.

The Alabama coaching staff extended an offer to 2025 point guard Darius Acuff Jr. on Thursday.

Acuff Jr. plays for Cass Techincal High School in Detroit, Michigan. As a junior, Acuff Jr. was named the 2022-2023 MaxPreps Michigan High School Basketball Player of the Year. He averaged 21.4 points per game and 5.7 assists per game.

Acuff Jr. helped the school win its first Division 1 State Championship.

Alabama head coach Nate Oats was formerly the head coach of Romulus High School (MI) which is located 30 minutes outside of Detroit. He has experience recruiting and coaching in the state of Michigan. Oats and the Alabama coaching staff will continue to recruit Acuff Jr. in the coming years.

Michigan State basketball is continuing to express interest in one of the rising prospects in its home state in the 2025 class.

The Spartans reportedly contacted point guard Darius Acuff Jr. of Detroit on the opening day of the direct contact period earlier this week. Joe Tipton reported the recruiting news on Michigan State and Acuff.

At midnight on June 15, college coaches are officially able to directly contact high school prospects in the 2025 class. According to Tipton, Acuff also was contacted by UCF, Iowa State, Kentucky, Michigan, Rutgers, Nebraska, LSU, Pitt and Indiana.

Michigan State is one of nine schools to extend an offer to Acuff already, with the Spartans handing him a scholarship in May. Other teams to offer Acuff includes Michigan, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Nebraska, Pitt, Providence and Rutgers.

Michigan State basketball has extended a scholarship offer to a rising star in the 2025 class.

Darius Acuff Jr. of Detroit announced on Tuesday that he’s received a scholarship offer from the Spartans. Acuff Jr. plays for Cass Tech High and is a prospect that has taken off on the recruiting trail in recent weeks.

Acuff Jr. isn’t ranked on 247Sports, but he has turned the heads of numerous big-time programs in the past few weeks. He holds scholarship offers from six schools — all of which have offered him in the past two weeks. The six schools to offer Acuff Jr. are Michigan State, Michigan, Kansas, Kentucky, Pitt and Nebraska.
