A Nebraska quarterback recruit led his team to victory on Friday night. Senior recruit Danny Kaelin and Bellevue West defeated Creighton Prep, 27-14, in their season-opening high school football game.
Kaelin went 22 of 35 passing for 225 yards. Bellevue West is also home to wide receiver prospects Dae’vonn Hall and Isaiah McMorris.
Kaelin committed to the University of Missouri in March. He announced his new commitment to the Cornhuskers less than 24 hours after decommitting from the Tigers.
Allen Trieu of 247Sports believes the Bellevue, Nebraska native is an effective passer and has the ability to fit the ball into tight spots.
“Shows the ability to anticipate and throw into windows and throw his receivers open. Solid to good arm strength. Very effective as an intermediate passer. Throws it well enough down the field to keep defenses honest but would not be currently classified as elite in the velocity category.”
Bellevue West will retake the field on Friday when it hosts Ohama North in a non-district matchup. Find social media reactions to the game below.
