Rutgers football made the cutdown for another four-star on Wednesday with Daniel Holmes cutting his list of schools down to six. He is a class of 2024 recruit and one of the top players in the nation.
A four-star recruit according to ESPN, Rivals and On3, Holmes is a 6-foot-6, 240-pounds defensive line out of Gonzaga High School (Washington, D.C.) His top six included Florida State, Michigan, Maryland, South Carolina, Florida and Rutgers.
He is the No. 135 recruit in the nation according to On3 and is No. 295 in the ESPN 300.
Last season, Holmes had 37 total tackles in 10 games. He also had two sacks (for a total of 16 lost yards) and an interception.

The current Rutgers recruiting class stands at eight commitments and is ranked No. 29 in the nation according to 247Sports.
One player from the class, Matthew Ogunniyi, is from Maryland. He is a consensus three-star recruit from Charles Herbert Flowers (Upper Marlboro, MD).
