Rams signing DBs T.J. Carter and Dan Isom to practice squad

The Rams have begun signing players to their practice squad, bringing back T.J. Carter and Dan Isom so far

After filling out their 53-man roster on Tuesday, the Los Angeles Rams now have 16 more spots available. They aren’t roster spots, but rather positions on the practice squad – which still gives players a chance to play on Sundays.

In the early wave of the practice squad frenzy, the Rams managed to bring back two of their own: defensive backs T.J. Carter and Dan Isom. Both players were waived as part of final roster cuts on Tuesday and cleared waivers Wednesday, thus making them available for the Rams again.

Isom and Carter provide added depth in the secondary, and both originally signed with the Rams as undrafted rookies this year. If they contribute on special teams, it’ll give them a chance to contribute on game days, too.

Rams are cutting S Dan Isom, want him back on the practice squad

The Rams’ first cut has been reported. They’re waiving Dan Isom, but they’d like him back on the practice squad.

It took until nearly noon ET, but the Los Angeles Rams’ first cut has been reported. According to Aaron Wilson, they’re waiving safety Dan Isom. If he clears waivers, the team would like to bring him back on the practice squad.

Isom was signed by the Rams as an undrafted free agent out of Washington State. He made a few plays in the preseason, including the game-sealing interception against the Chargers in the opener.

Isom was buried on the depth chart at safety, a position of strength for Los Angeles. He should make it through waivers unclaimed and give the Rams some added depth on the practice squad.
