CU Buffs women’s basketball offers 2025 guard Carly Amborn

Colorado became the latest Pac-12 school to offer 2025 guard Carly Amborn

Fresh off a Sweet 16 appearance, head coach JR Payne and her staff are getting after it this summer on the recruiting trail.

One of the latest high school prospects to receive a Colorado women’s basketball offer is Carly Amborn, a class of 2025 guard out of California. She’s currently running with Jason Kidd Select and has received a slew of other recent offers from UC Santa Barbara, Washington, Maryland, Tulsa, Utah, San Jose State and Cal. The 6-foot-1 Amborn also took an unofficial visit with the Huskies in late May.

The Buffs’ backcourt is currently in strong shape with Jaylyn Sherrod and Kindyll Wetta returning, but Amborn is a strong candidate to continue Colorado’s recent success at the guard position.

Not long after receiving offer, four-star EDGE London Merritt places Colorado in top 12

Colorado made the cut as four-star EDGE London Merritt revealed his top 12 schools

Just weeks after receiving an offer from the Buffs on May 11, four-star Georgia prospect London Merritt named Colorado to his top 12 schools on Tuesday.

Merritt, the No. 8 ranked EDGE for 2025 (247Sports Composite), is also considering Clemson, Alabama, Florida, Florida State, LSU, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Tennessee, Texas A&M and USC.

Listed at 6-foot-3 and 230 pounds, Merritt racked up 33 total tackles, nine sacks and 6 quarterback hurries as a sophomore at Woodward Academy in College Park, Georgia.

Colorado head coach Deion Sanders has loaded up on transfer EDGE rushers since his hiring, but four-star wide receiver Winston Watkins Jr. remains the program’s lone 2025 commit.

Also on Tuesday, fellow four-star prospect Zavier Mincey, a class of 2024 safety from Florida, named Colorado to his top 10.

Colorado offers rising California athlete Drey Garner

The #cubuffs offered a fast-rising four-star athlete from California

Colorado gave out another offer this week, this time to a soon-to-be high school junior who’s gaining more attention on the recruiting front following a breakout sophomore year.

On Wednesday, the Buffs became the 10th program and the fifth since late March to offer Drey Garner, a class of 2025 athlete from University City High School in San Diego, California.

The four-star prospect (247Sports composite) put up big numbers in his sophomore season on both sides of the ball. As a wide receiver, he caught 36 passes for 812 yards and nine touchdowns in his first full varsity season, according to MaxPreps. That comes out to 22.6 yards per reception as he proved a big play threat. Defensively, he had three interceptions and four passes defended as a cornerback.

Garner has the potential to develop into one of the better recruits in California for his class by the time his senior season comes around, and the Buffs jumped in relatively early on the quality prospect.

Top-10 class of 2025 QB KJ Lacey receives Colorado offer

Colorado is after the No. 5-ranked class of 2025 QB

Recruiting buzz around the Colorado Buffaloes isn’t going away anytime soon. This is the reality of the new-look program with Deion Sanders in town.

With spring football in the rearview mirror, the Buffs are busy trying to land players for the class of 2024 and beyond. Now, they have offered four-star class of 2025 quarterback Karle (KJ) Lacey, as he revealed on his Twitter page.

The Buffs also got a commitment from class of 2025 WR Winston Watkins Jr. back in December when Coach Prime was initially hired, so they are making big moves for the future in Boulder, and landing Lacey would be another huge get for that class.

Lacey has garnered interest from a number of programs, including Alabama, Florida State and Auburn, and he plays high school football at Saraland High School in Alabama. The 247Sports Composite ranks Lacey as the No. 5 QB in his class.

There is a lot to like about Lacey’s talent, and he still has two years to grow and develop before making the move to college.

It will be difficult for Colorado to battle with a pair of SEC schools, but we have seen Coach Prime do magical things on the recruiting front and he should never be counted out.

Colorado offers pair of elite 2025 QBs

Two of the nation’s top 2025 QBs reported offers from Colorado on Friday

California recruits TJ Lateef and Bear Bachmeier, two of the nation’s top 2025 quarterbacks, reported offers from Colorado on Friday. Lateef is the No. 10 QB prospect for 2025 while Bachmeier is ranked just behind at No. 11, per the 247Sports Composite.

At Orange Lutheran High School last fall, Lateef threw for 2,446 yards, 18 touchdowns and seven interceptions as a sophomore. The Buffaloes previously offered the 6-foot-2, 185-pound QB in January of 2022, so this is technically a re-offer.

Bachmeier had a slightly stronger sophomore season at Murrieta Valley High School, throwing for 2,853 yards, 26 touchdowns and four interceptions.

Both of the four-star QBs tagged Colorado offensive coordinator Sean Lewis in their tweets below:

Colorado offers top-100 class of 2025 prospect Isaiah Campbell

A top-100 class of 2025 recruit received an offer from Colorado

In the leadup to Deion Sanders’ first season as Colorado’s head coach, bolstering the skill positions has proven to be a high priority for him and his staff.

Now, the Buffaloes are jumping in on an impressive East Coast defensive tackle. On Tuesday, 2025 defensive lineman Isaiah Campbell, a four-star recruit from Greene Central High School in North Carolina, reported an offer from CU.

Campbell is ranked as the No. 80 overall prospect in 2025 and the No. 8 defensive lineman, per 247Sports.

Colorado is Campbell’s 13th Division I offer, but the Buffs are arguably his highest-profile one, with fellow Power Five schools in North Carolina, Rutgers, South Carolina, Virginia, Wake Forest, NC State and Duke also in the mix.

If Colorado could eventually convince Campbell to move out of his home state, it would be a significant pickup for the Buffs as they try to bolster their future talent level along the defensive line.

Colorado offers 2025 four-star CB Blake Woodby

Colorado extended an offer to a shutdown corner from Maryland

Not many coaches in college football can recruit cornerbacks quite like Deion Sanders can.

Blake Woodby, a four-star cornerback in the class of 2025 from high school powerhouse St. Frances Academy in Maryland, was offered by Colorado this week in an effort to woo the talented defensive back to Boulder.

The sophomore now holds 20 offers, including his latest one from Colorado, and is ranked as the No. 9 corner and No. 68 overall player in his class, per 247Sports. As for his play, he definitely excels in man coverage and is advanced in press as well, both traits of which could play a big role in Colorado’s defensive scheme come 2025.

Woodby already stands 5-foot-11 and 180 pounds with two more seasons of high school football remaining.

Colorado offers four-star Florida QB commit Austin Simmons

The #cubuffs offered four-star Florida QB commit Austin Simmons

Whether via the transfer portal or through high school recruiting, Colorado is on the hunt for commitments.

The Buffs have now offered 2025 four-star quarterback Austin Simmons, according to a Twitter post from him on Friday.

Simmons, a Florida native who committed to the Gators on April 4, is the No. 58 overall player in the country and the No. 4 QB in his class (247Sports). The Moore Haven High School product also holds offers from Auburn, Florida State, Miami and Penn State, among others.

Since head coach Deion Sanders was hired this offseason, Colorado has cast a broad net for prospects nationwide in an effort to expand the Buffs’ pipeline, and Simmons is the latest prospect on Coach Prime’s wish list.

Given that Simmons is a 2025 prospect, the Buffs have plenty of time to potentially flip him from his home state school.

No. 1 class of 2025 running back Gideon Davidson names Colorado to top 10

The No. 1 overall class of 2025 running back has Colorado in his top 10

Come 2025, it’s possible that Colorado’s offense will welcome the No. 1 overall wide receiver and running back for that year’s recruiting class.

Five-star WR Winston Watkins Jr., the Buffs’ first 2025 commit, ranks No. 6 at his position but is trending upward, and we learned on Friday that top-rated (247Sports) class of 2025 RB Gideon Davidson included CU in his top 10.

Head coach Deion Sanders is now looking to beat out Clemson, Michigan, Oregon, USC, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Penn State and Iowa State for Davidson’s pledge.

The 6-foot, 193-pound Lynchburg, Virginia prospect was offered by Colorado on Jan. 30 following a 1,241-yard rushing season at Liberty Christian in which he was named a MaxPreps Sophomore All-American.

Class of 2025 in-state WR Jeremiah Hoffman to visit CU Buffs for spring game

In-state WR Jeremiah Hoffman will be visiting the #cubuffs during the spring game

The good news keeps on coming for the Colorado Buffaloes. For the spring game taking place in April, ESPN will televise, players will come far and wide and fans will pack Folsom Field.

On that day, many recruits will come to watch the new-look Buffs in person, and now class of 2025 wide receiver Jeremiah Hoffman will officially visit the Buffs on that day, as posted on his own Twitter page.

Hoffman, who just finished his sophomore season at Severance High School (about an hour northwest of Boulder) will also be taking visits to UNLV, Nebraska and Wyoming, with Colorado being the final of the four.

Hoffman is a talented player and a multi-sport athlete. He also does track and plays basketball at Severance.

Fellow class of 2025 WR Winston Watkins Jr. was one of the first commits after head coach Deion Sanders took the job, and if Hoffman comes on board, the WR room for that year will look dangerous with a couple of talented freshmen.
