Creighton has steadily fallen through the top 25 after starting the season ranked at No. 9 and now finds itself looking up at the rankings after 5 losses in its first 11 games. Cold shooting and a strong schedule including games against Arizona and Texas have left the Bluejays wanting in what was supposed to be a strong season. Although the 6-5 record is not what Creighton wanted, it has a chance to energize the season as it opens Big East play.
Marquette had one of the best wins in the country when it hammered then-No. 10 Baylor 96-70 on Nov. 29. Many top teams have struggled a bit this season and some of the mid-tier squads have crept into the national spotlight. The Golden Eagles are one of those teams who have become relevant, and they will hope to remain as such as they open Big East play.

If you think Creighton will finally put things together and make this a win, this is the way to play the game, but my feeling is that the Bluejays will take a bit longer to get things together. Marquette is a different team at home, and they have the ability to win this one. I would not wager the Golden Eagles (-170) moneyline as a standalone bet, but it’s not a bad addition to a parlay.
Against the spread
BET MARQUETTE -3.5 (-115).
Marquette is the better team right now and they have a home-court advantage Friday. Creighton can beat anyone with the 3-point shot that it loves to hoist, but it has not been falling to start the season and I do not see it falling often enough here for the mild upset.
Over/Under
BET OVER 153.5 (-105).
These teams can score. Marquette beat Baylor while putting up 96 points and beat Notre Dame on the road Sunday by scoring 79 points. This looks like a game where both teams get to the 70s and the winner probably gets to 80. This makes the OVER 153.5 (-105) my favorite play here.
