Dallas Cowboys at New York Giants odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Dallas Cowboys at New York Giants odds and lines, with expert NFL picks and predictions.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants kick off their season on Sunday Night Football at MetLife Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:20 p.m. ET (NBC). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Cowboys vs. Giants odds, and make our expert NFL picks and predictions.

It was somewhat of a quiet offseason for the Cowboys. They acquired CB Stephon Gilmore and WR Brandin Cooks and retained RB Tony Pollard via the franchise tag. They made waves a couple of weeks ago when they acquired QB Trey Lance from the San Francisco 49ers to back up QB Dak Prescott, who now has his feet to the fire.

The Giants enter the season with a lot of questions at receiver. Darius Slayton, Parris Campbell and Isaiah Hodgins lead the receiving corps, which isn’t much to write home about. TE Darren Waller (hamstring) is also questionable for this one, and that could put a lot of pressure on QB Daniel Jones and RB Saquon Barkley.

Cowboys at Giants picks and predictions

Prediction

Cowboys 24, Giants 17

Moneyline

Dallas has beaten the G-Men 4 straight times and is 9-1 over the last 10. The 2 games last season were competitive, with the Cowboys coming away with 28-20 and 23-16 wins. The key in this game will be how well the offensive line holds up with 2 starters already injured in front of a mistake-prone Prescott. The Cowboys are stacked with WR CeeDee Lamb expected to take another step forward toward the NFL’s elite wideouts.

Dallas is rightfully favored, and we’re going to avoid paying -175 on its moneyline. PASS and look to the spread.

Against the spread

Laying 3.5 points with the Cowboys is a pretty decent proposition. They’re 7-3 ATS in the last 10 games against the Giants, and this number would have covered in 4 straight meetings. The Giants surprised a lot of people last season at 9-7-1, but they’re one of the teams you can see taking a step back this year.

Take the COWBOYS -3.5 (-105).

Over/Under

The Over is 6-3-1 in the last 10 meetings between the teams. This number, though, would not have cashed in 2 of the last 3 meetings. I’m more akin to the Under in Week 1, especially with Dallas’ O-line banged up and the Giants looking rather one-dimensional with Barkley.

LEAN UNDER 45.5 (-110).

Dallas Cowboys at New York Giants odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s Cowboys at Giants odds and lines, with expert NFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Dallas Cowboys (1-1) and New York Giants (2-0) continue their age-old rivalry Monday night at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. Kickoff is set for 8:15 p.m. ET (ESPN/ABC). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the Cowboys vs. Giants odds, and make our expert NFL picks and predictions.

The Cowboys have had a rough start to the season, losing 19-3 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and, more importantly, losing QB Dak Prescott to injury. Prescott could return to the field in October, but at QB against the Giants in Week 3 is Cooper Rush, who led Dallas to a 20-17 win over the Cincinnati Bengals last week. Rush threw for 235 yards and 1 TD in that game.

The Giants are among the remaining undefeated teams in the NFL. The Giants narrowly defeated the Tennessee Titans and Carolina Panthers in the first 2 weeks. RB Saquon Barkley led the way with 282 total yards and 1 TD on 48 touches through 2 games.

Cowboys at Giants picks and predictions

Prediction

Giants 23, Cowboys 20

Money line

With a half-a-point spread, this is pretty much a rare “pick ’em” game. The payout is almost the same whether you bet thr ML or ATS.

The injury list is long for both squads, but Dallas’ list is brutal. They’re missing their starting QB, offensive guard and safety, and might be missing their starting TE and best pass rusher. The Giants are also running the ball incredibly well and Dallas has allowed 120 yards rushing per game. This should be a victory for New York.

I’d take the GIANTS (-115) to remain undefeated through the first 3 weeks.

Against the spread

Again, at half a point, it doesn’t really matter if you go ATS or money line, just take the GIANTS -0.5 (-115). If the spread ends up jumping up to 1 or 1.5 points, you may be better off taking the money line in case it finishes as a 1-point game. The payout will be close to the same anyways.

Over/Under

This could be a low-scorer with Rush at QB for the Cowboys and the Giants leaning toward a run-heavy approach. My final score predicts the game to go slightly Over the 39.5-point mark, but this one could easily finish 20-17 and fall slightly Under. With that in mind, it’s best to AVOID the Over/Under for this game.

Dallas Cowboys at New York Giants odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Sunday’s Dallas Cowboys at New York Giants odds and lines, with expert NFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Dallas Cowboys (9-4) will try to extend their winning streak to three games Sunday when they visit the New York Giants (4-9). This NFC East showdown will kick off at 1 p.m. ET at MetLife Stadium this weekend. Below, we look at the Cowboys vs. Giants odds and lines, and make our best NFL picks, predictions and bets.

The Cowboys have been carried by their defense lately, forcing four turnovers in each of their last two games. The defense has also scored two touchdowns in the last two weeks, which were pivotal in the team’s wins over the Saints and Washington.

Since the Cowboys’ Week 7 bye, they’re just 4-3 with losses to the Broncos, Chiefs and Raiders.

The Giants have endured yet another difficult season, and things only seem to be getting worse with QB Daniel Jones still sidelined by a neck injury.

QB Mike Glennon is slated to start again this weekend after losing his first two starts of the season to the Dolphins and Chargers. The Giants lost those games by a combined score of 57-30, failing to cover the spread in either one.

Cowboys at Giants odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Cowboys 24, Giants 17

Money line

The Cowboys absolutely should not lose this game against the Glennon-led Giants. They cruised to a 44-20 win over New York back in Week 5, and that was with Jones at quarterback.

I believe the Cowboys will beat the Giants but with the way Dallas’ offense has played lately and given the chalky line of -700, I would PASS here.

Against the spread

The Cowboys’ offense has looked out of sorts lately, specifically QB Dak Prescott. And with RB Ezekiel Elliott still dealing with a knee injury, the offense doesn’t exactly have a running game to lean on.

The 11.5-point spread is high, even with New York missing key players on offense. And two of the last three games between the Cowboys and Giants have been decided by four points or fewer.

Bet the GIANTS +11.5 (-112).

Over/Under

In the Giants’ 13 games this season, the total has only gone Over four times. The Over is 6-7 in Cowboys games this year, including a recent stretch where the total has gone Under in six of their last seven games.

I like the UNDER 44.5 (-112) in this one because the Giants will struggle to move the ball against Dallas’ defense and the Cowboys haven’t looked good on offense at all.
