Mic’d-up video shows exactly what was said in LeBron James’ exchange with heckling Hawks fan

Whoa.

I’ll get this out of the way in the very first sentence because this video has a ton of strong language. So, I’d recommend headphones unless you want to blast a lot of cursing through your speakers.

Monday night’s game between the Los Angeles Lakers and Atlanta Hawks at State Farm Arena was briefly paused when a fan seated courtside started getting into it with LeBron James. The referees and arena staff had to step in, and eventually both fans — a husband and wife — were escorted out of the arena.

The woman involved in the exchange took to Instagram and claimed she was standing up for her husband. LeBron tweeted after the game, calling her “Courtside Karen.”

But what was said exactly?

Well, thanks to a much-needed breakdown from Jomboy Media, we can hear what the enhanced microphones picked up from the whole scene. (Warning: NSFW language)

Woo buddy. That was a lot.

Of course, none of this would have happened if the Hawks had opted to not sell courtside seats during a pandemic. But even after all that, LeBron still didn’t think the fans deserved to be ejected.

#CourtsideKaren goes trending after LeBron James, Lakers tweets

LeBron James tweeted about the fan who was ejected from the game, whom fans on social media are calling ‘Courtside Karen.’

The bizarre exchange caught on camera between a fan sitting courtside and LeBron James, leading to the fan being ejected, has morphed into its own kind of viral storm. The fan who was seen with her mask pulled down and yelling at LeBron has been identified as Juliana Carlos, as she took to social media to tell her side of the story as to why she was ejected from the game.

Shortly after many were tweeting out the videos from Carlos’ Instagram story and other publicly available details about her and her husband, Chris Carlos, who is a noted businessman in the Atlanta area. James then tweeted about it on Twitter, using the nickname many are using for Mrs. Carlos, “Courtside Karen.” James tweeted that she was “MAD MAD” which led to the hashtag #CourtsideKaren to trend on Twitter late Monday night and into early Tuesday morning.

For the record, James didn’t have any hard feelings about the ordeal after the game.

There were plenty of other classic reactions after LeBron’s tweet, however.
