3 keys to victory for Patriots vs Colts in Germany

The Patriots have a chance to improve to 3-7, if they implement these three keys to victory against the Colts.

The New England Patriots’ season is over as far as the postseason is concerned. However, there are still eight more games left on their 2023 schedule.

So the rest of this season is more of a see what you have and what you don’t kind of situation.

The Patriots will take on the Indianapolis Colts in Germany on Sunday morning. They will be facing a team that has had a better season than them, even with all of the turmoil surrounding star running back Jonathan Taylor. The Colts also lost their starting quarterback, rookie Anthony Richardson, for the season with a shoulder injury.

New England has a chance to improve to 3-7 if they do these three things in the upcoming matchup. Let’s get into this week’s keys to victory for the Patriots.

Here are three keys for the Patriots to fend off the Colts and stay on the winning track

The Indianapolis Colts (3-4-1) head to Gillette Stadium to take on the New England Patriots (4-4). New England faces a much-needed win as the AFC East is getting tighter as the weeks roll on, and the Colts are now without veteran quarterback Matt Ryan, who has been benched for Sam Ehlinger.

The team also fired their offensive coordinator on Tuesday.

New England is hoping to get health back on their side and beat up on an injury-riddled Colts team searching for a glimmer of hope after a lackluster first half of the season. There was no quick fix after acquiring Ryan from the Atlanta Falcons in the offseason, and the team is now looking for other ways to turn it around.

Let’s take a look at three keys to victory for the New England Patriots as they attempt to get above .500 win percentage for the first time this season.

Colts’ win over Patriots means no AFC team can clinch playoffs in Week 15

The Colts’ Saturday night win over the Patriots means that no AFC team can clinch a playoff berth until next week.

At 8-6 after their impressive Saturday night win over the Patriots, the Colts are more than spoilers. But they spoiled everything for their conference with that 27-17 result.

Coming into Week 15, 28 teams remained in playoff contention, and no team has yet clinched a postseason berth. That’s only the third time it’s happened since 1990 (it happened in 1993 and 2014) as well, and for the Patriots and Titans to punch their tickets to the playoffs, the Colts had to lose.

Which… did not happen. So, every AFC team will have to wait until Week 16 to get a bit closer to their playoff reveal. That’s how tight things are in that conference.

How did this happen? Well, the Patriots needed a win outright to clinch a playoff berth, and that didn’t happen. And the Titans could have clinched the AFC South if the Colts lost, and Tennessee beat the Steelers on Sunday. It would be good for the Titans to win, obviously, because the Colts seem to be in everybody’s rear-view right now, having won five of their last six games.

The NFC holds more possibilities, as you can see below.
