CU women’s basketball offers 2024 forward out of Australia

Colorado is in pursuit of a 6-foot-2 forward out of Australia

Colorado women’s basketball head coach JR Payne is hot on the recruiting trails as the Buffs continue building their 2024 class.

They are now going international in their search. Tabitha Betson, an Australian forward who currently resides in Florida, announced on Twitter last week that she received a scholarship offer from the Buffs.

Per her Twitter, Betson has been playing for DME Academy in Daytona Beach, Florida and on the Australian U17 national team.

The 6-foot-2 rising high school senior made it easy for us to scout her by posting her highlights from the Deep South Tournament, which took place in Raleigh, North Carolina in April.

Betson showed some good back-to-the-basket skills and also played great post defense. She was even able to do her best Nikola Jokić impersonation, starting the breakaways after blocks or rebounds. She also has a solid mid-range game that could stretch out to the 3-point line — similar to Quay Miller.

She also owns offers from USF, UCF, Colorado State, Maryland, Clemson and others.

2024 prospect Jenessa Cotton announces offer from CU women’s basketball

Colorado extended an offer to 17U Nike Nationals champion Jenessa Cotton

Recruiting essentially never ends for the Colorado women’s basketball team and head coach JR Payne is eyeing a class of 2024 talent from California. On Tuesday, Mater Dei High School forward/center Jenessa Cotton announced via Twitter that she received an offer to play basketball at CU.

The Buffaloes will be in for a fight to land her commitment, though. Michigan, Kentucky, UNLV, Lousiville and Cal are just some of the other schools that have offered Cotton.

Looking at her highlights, the 6-foot-2 Cotton can play with her back to the basket and can also knock down the mid-range jumper.

Cotton recently snagged the attention of “SportsCenter NEXT,” which tweeted out a video of her blocking a shot while playing for the Cal Sparks in the 17U Nike Nationals Tournament.

Cotton’s Sparks team ended up winning the prestigious Nike Nationals Tournament as well.

Four-star forward Nigel Walls drawing heavy interest from CU Buffs

Colorado is one of five schools expressing heavy interest in four-star forward Nigel Walls

The Colorado Buffaloes men’s basketball team has become a recent hotbed for big recruits. The addition of Cody Williams is a big move, and head coach Tad Boyle coaching Team USA also helps on the recruiting front.

Four-star class of 2025 forward Nigel Walls was one of a flurry of players to impress at the Peach Jam, and he mentioned that a handful of schools are showing strong interest in him so far, including Colorado, per Brandon Jenkins of 247Sports. Others include Auburn, Arkansas, Oklahoma and TCU.

He is a four-star recruit and with his showing at the Peach Jam, more programs will likely come calling.

Here’s what Walls said about Colorado (h/t 247Sports): “They tell me how they can relate to me through USA Basketball. Tad Boyle goes to USA and I do as well. They tell me how they relate to my game and make connections with where I have been.”

Walls plays at St. Francis Episcopal School in Houston, Texas and is listed as a 6-foot-10 hybrid forward, so there is plenty of hype around the young man.

Buffs men’s hoops express interest in 2025 wing

Colorado men’s basketball is expressing interest in a 2025 guard

Times might be changing at Colorado in many sports, not just football. Cody Williams is set to be fun to watch for the Buffaloes men’s basketball team this upcoming season.

As a result, the Buffs hoops team has garnered lots of interest from high-ranked recruits despite missing out on the NCAA Tournament recently.

The Buffs have already been active in the Class of 2024 and Class of 2025, including expressing interest in Kaleb Evans.

Now, they are also showing interest in 2025 wing Chuck Love, as reported by Dino Siervo of The Circuit.

The talented wing from Nebraska also has heard from the following schools: Kansas, Texas Tech, Wisconsin, Oregon, Mizzou, LSU, Cincinnati, Indiana, and Arkansas. He is playing this summer with Mokan Elite on the NIKE EYBL, so Buffs fans can keep their eyes peeled for more highlights from this young player.

He still has two years of high school remaining, but the Buffs are being extremely active in trying to put this roster together for the foreseeable future, and having Evans and Love together would be a terrific combo.

USC fights uphill battle vs Colorado for 4-star small forward and top-70 national recruit

.@BuffaloesWire is following a four-star recruitment in which Colorado has the clear upper hand over USC and Andy Enfield.

The USC Trojans are battling the Colorado Buffaloes for four-star small forward Cody Williams … and the battle is distinctly uphill.

Jack Carlough of Buffaloes Wire has been following this story.

It’s clear that the Buffs and Tad Boyle have the upper hand over Andy Enfield and the Trojans plus a few other pursuers.

“The Colorado men’s basketball team could soon land one of the nation’s top 2023 recruits in 6-foot-7 small forward Cody Williams,” Carlough wrote.

“With the early signing period set to begin Nov. 9, On3 Sports believes the Buffs have a ‘slight edge’ over Southern California, Arizona and LSU to snag Williams.”

USC might be losing this recruitment, but the Trojans will be in great shape if they close the sale on No. 1 national recruit Isaiah Collier, who is expected to choose the Trojans on Nov. 16, his announcement date.
